    Corvette Z06

    I've just ordered one of these as an offcial UK car. It arrives in June so I'm very excited. I believe there are a few in the UK but haven't seen one.

    Have an of our US friends got any experience of the car.

    In UK trim it is 512 hp and 1400Kg with a 427cu inch V8 that revs to 7000rpm so I couldn't really resist it!

    Don't be too impressed with a 0 to 100 time of 7 seconds. Its only really getting started after 100 mph.

    Have mine on order here in the states but wouldnt get it until Aug/Sept this year.. Hard to get unless you are willing to pay over msrp. Anyway, I have looked at several at dealerships and it's probably the best looking car to come out in a long time ....

    Strathstones got their first UK model yesterday so I went to see it. It was black, not my favorie colour, but god it looked horney. The flared arches remind me of the best looking car ever, the Ferrari 288GTO.

    jackg have you driven zo6 yet?. if so how good is this car, compared to porsche, ferrari. p.s going to see car at stratstones in three weeks time. spoke to adam.

    Haven't driven one yet but have just been offered an import for Pounds63K which I think I'll go with until mine arrives in June. I dealt with Lee who is a nice bloke

    Any idea where one can get one of these bad boys at MSRP?

    I talked to 2 dealers in Houston and they both were asking for 10k over MSRP even when ordered and be in the waiting list at the dealer.

    I asked them what's the purpose of ordering it from the dealer if you can't get it at MSRP? and still haven't received a reply .

    I finally found a dealer at MSRP but have to wait 7-8 mos. I had to call several dealers before I was able to get it at MSRP. You can get on the list at Kerberk or Les Stanford Chevrolet for the 07' at MSRP I believe.

    I still can't believe the ZO6. For what that car has to offer at its price, I can't see anything coming close.

    Hopefully, the European sport car companies will take notice. They are doing a good job in raping us. Porsche makes more money per car than any other car manufacturer in the world. Ferrari can survive on producing only 5000 cars a year.

    We need to either send a message or continue to bend over and grab our ankles.

    The only significant message you could send and switch to an American car maker.
    Would Ferrari care Nick? Of course they wouldn't.
    As long as people like you and me are willing to pay the price why should they change their policy.
    Remember those guys need to maximise share holder value!

    As good as the new Z06 is, would you wanna be seen in one in La Jolla or you rather be seen in a Ferrari?

    As much as I like the new Z06 and may be buying one I still would pick the Ferrari .

    Wouldn't you agree that Ferrari survives on "only" 5000 cars since they are owned by Fiat, and Porsche on the flip-side is independent?

    But for the boxey rear end I would buy one. I have no idea way they styled it that way but it is a turn off to me. Can you imagine (priced as it is) if it had a Porsche badge how many more cars they would sell? Hell, Porsche could quit making SUV's.

    Actually, I thought the Corvette rear with dual circular taillights was the American copycat style of a Ferrari.
