Actually, I've checked and you can even buy the AMG quad exhaust for the SL500. I might go for that, we won't get the sounds, but we'll have the looks, it's a start
Plus the car already has AMG 18" alloys and AMG body kit, so all that's left for Fanch to do is grab a fourk and tear the SL500 badge, just like I did on the S600
Hehe, sad but cool
People will think my "old" mother will be driving an AMG model, somehow, it's quite cool!
You don't see many women driving cars like SL55, Turbo, 360s, etc.

Francois, I'm pretty sure AMG does not offer the Quad exhaust for the SL500. There might be some dealers doing it or some aftermarket tuners but AMG definetely not.
The price tag is around 3000 EUR incl. install and tax as far as I remember, maybe a little bit less.
The CLK55 AMG is actually a pretty interesting car:
the engine is great and with a little bit less weight, it could be a nice track car, especially if it is equipped with the new limited slip differential.
There are rumors of a CLK55 AMG Clubsport version with minimum 100 kg less weight but it hasn't been confirmed yet.
The price tag is around 3000 EUR incl. install and tax as far as I remember, maybe a little bit less.

I saw a E500 with this quad exhaust (actually only the rear silencers) and it looks different than the four pipes on the E55 for example. So if this stuff for the SL500 looks the same, I'm not sure anybody would believe this is a SL55. At least not somebody who is very knowledgable about cars.
