    Cayenne pics 20' Sport Technos

    Hi yall,

    here are some pics of my S with 20" Sport Technos
    anyone install an aftermarket exhaust or the OEM sport Exhaust? how does it sounds?

    AS YOU HAVE NEVER MOUNTED THE CIRCLES SPORT THECNO FROM 20"?
    I HAVE ORDERED CAYENNE S (TO THE DELIVERY JANUARY 2004) WHITH THE CIRCLE FROM 19" ON COUNCIL OF THE CONCESSIONAIRE OFFICIAL PORSCHE.
    REPLIES OF THE PROBLEMS?

    I think the 19" Cayenne Design Wheel is the most attractive Porsche has for the Cayenne. I have not heard of any problems with this wheel. It is too large for serious off-roading. On this wheel the tire has a short sidewall leaving the wheel vulnerable to large, sharp rocks that could bend the wheel if you go over them too fast. Just don't drive fast over roads with large, sharp rocks and you should be fine. The 19" has the advantage on-road because you can get the wider 275/45 tire with a higher speed rating. If you are not interested in serious off-road use I think the 19" is the best choice.

    Did I understand you correctly that you have ordered a Cayenne for January delivery?

    best cayenne wheel for driving is the normal 18" wheel but it looks poore. would be nice if the PAG would produce a nice looking 18" wheel in the traditional Cup 1 design.

    the technos looks cool but i dont mount them again - the ride with them feels like when i tested 18" speedlines on a 964 RS.
    You loose a lot of agility, the ride is very stiff and bumpy and steering is much harder. It`s for sure no improvement.

    i agree that 19" will be the best way in the middle between performance and optics. what i really love on the technos is the easy cleaning :-)

    First congrats on you JAN build, we all remember waiting for our Cayennes and sometimes the anticipation is too much!!!

    The reason I chose the 20" Sport Techno's initially was mainly due to its AWESOME look. I had the Cayenne s 18" wheel on before and the 20" substantially changed the look of the car - much more aggresive. I know that people don't think that weight discrepancies matter on the Cayenne but I felt that the Sport's were a bit heavy (they wiegh about 65 pounds each with tired on and the 28's weight about 62 so thats 12 pounds difference in unsprund weight) I had just switched to BMC filters before installin the Sports and was enjoying the low end grunt, but installing them restored the cars performace to pre-BMC. Maybe I am just being too sensitive about it but I think this to be true. I think the handling and performance are about the same. You do feel more bumps in but I think they corber much better. I have not yet taken them offroad, but I feel I live at the top of an ant hill; there are so many bumps and I have gone over 3 or 4 curbs with the Cayenne and the air suspension handles the situation marvelous with both wheels. Anyways this is getting long - we are here to share not blabber.

    never ever. maybe your air susp. filters a lot (i have a steel susp.) but its definately day & night. maybe you have a LITTLE better feel in cornering but in the sum 20" sucks on the cayenne. i agree with you that they are the best looking wheels for the cayenne at the time but thats really all and thats enough. form have to follow function, period.

    you also better forget to offroad your 40 diameter tires
    if you dont want to feed your dealer with additional 5 grands :-)

    made near the same experience on my former 64`s - it`s been bader on the speedster with the 18" speedlines comparing to the 17" stock cups but it`s been HORROR to drive the 18" on the RS!!! Bigger looks mostly better but irs not allways better to ride:

    well obviously the ride is much harshes with the 20's than the 18's even with the air suspension. i do agree with you that the 18s are nice in terms of performance but not in terms of aesthetics.

    yes 100% correct. the 2 18" cayenne wheels are the most ugliest pursch wheels after the 924/928 telephone wheel.
    the PAG really force their customers to the tuners.
