YES.... it is useless as this forum is an ENGLISH speaking one ..... so most of us do speak English... and our "common" language is English.
If there is an English version, I'll consider buying it.
About learning German... I'm affraid I won't as I already have a tough time learning English....

I agree, the international language is English and this is why this forum is in English. A book written in german language doesn't help much.

Yes, I have that book and it is excellent. I really hope the book that Cay refers to becomes available in English. Or, maybe it's just a repeat of the Becker/Warter book?
What is not a repeat is the new edition of Porsche: Excellence Was Expected. It came out September 1, 2003. It is a large three volume set chronicling Porsche history through 2002. It has very detailed background on the Cayenne and Carrera GT development. We speculated recently on the reason Porsche and Mercedes broke off their SUV development program. In volume three it is revealed that a Mercedes representative proposed in a meeting that Mercedes needed some ownership in Porsche for the project to go forward. At that point Wiedeking stood up, called the meeting and all negotiations off and walked out. End of story. Here is a link to the publishers website: web page. You can also order it from Amazon for considerably less.

I never heard from this publication. I will go for it! I have really a lot Pursch books here but most are repeatings from repeats... and so it`s really hard to find a kickass title between. Your links promise good stuff.
As far I know near all ATZ/MTZ publications are available in german and in english. They have also special issues from the new BMW 7, SL and S-Class - bought them all even if I'm not too much interested in some of this cars but ATZ/MTZ describes the single technical features very detailed so that theyre interesting for near every technical freak from other makes too.

'Porsche Cayenne' in English...

A little of that English is clunky enough that one can tell it's been translated from another language, but it's still a great read with lots of good pics.

And I appreciate that. I do believe, however, that the ATZ/MTZ book is different than the one I have and Porsche is selling. The one Cay refers to has a different cover and different authors I think; hard to tell definitively since I don't read German well. Looking on the German Porsche website the German version of the Becker/Warter book looks just like the one I have, but not like the one Cay refers to. I also saw somewhere that the ATZ/MTZ book is recently released. I find several references to it in German but none in English. My conclusion is that this is a new book not yet available in English.
BTW: Everyone should lighten up on this German vs English stuff. OK?

yes you`re right - the Becker/Warter book is completely different than the ATZ/MTZ. The Becker/Warter Book is published from the PAG, the info there goes a lot in the direction of marketing and most of the pics there are allready known from the PAG website or other PAG publications. It`s a mainstream title like most Pursch books even if its nice and worth the money. Easy stuff like a fashion mag.
The ATZ/MTZ is stuff written from engineers for engineers in the automotive industry and very technical, describes the tech features in detail and the publisher have a english website:

They charge 19 euro for the title and even if not all titles are published in all languages you can learn a lot cuz they have a lot of very detailed and selfexplaining drawings. A pitty they dont published a simular one from the 996.
