I saw a new body Audi A6 (05-06) with RS6 tags and 4 tailpipes, on 101 south this afternoon in Northern California. Can't find any specs on the Audi USA site, and i did not expect the RS version for the 6 series for at least a year or two here in the USA.

Don't worry regarding the relative performance of your 997s.
The old RS6plus (with 480hp) was rather a slow car. The 0-200kph time was around 17-18 seconds or so and the car also felt quite slow in particular above 150kph.
The new RS6 is rumoured to get 500-550hp. My guess would be that straight line acceleration should be very close to a 997s, with advantages for the 997s at higher speeds

The new RS6 has its sights set on the M5, not to mention the x55 AMGs, so I really doubt that it will be slower than a 997s. I predict a 13-second 0-200 kph time. Think about it - M5s are putting out 530-540 HP stock. In order for Audi to match its performance with AWD and slightly bigger weight, it will need over 550 HP - that could turn out to be the ultimate sedan. Plenty fast with gobs of torque (TT V10) and superior traction.

With over 500hp, the Audi is the one with the theorhetical advantage at high speed (until the speed limiter cuts in)...

Although I would like a 0-200 time of 13 seconds this will not happen. Audi, unfortunately, is not known for efficiency when it comes to translating power into performance. Just look at the new RS4. Rather slow for 420hp. Unfortunate but true.

If its not a real car but a mule, i doubt it would have badges on it;) probably just some poser. Furthermore, someone said a V10 turbo, and this is not the case, just a NA V10.

The " regular " 2007 S6 was officially announced weeks ago , with something like a 420 HP V10, detuned from the 450 HP V10 for the same motor in the S8. So I would venture 500-600 hp from a twin turbo V10 for an RS6 , since that's what it's two main comps, the M5 and the coming E63 will have , power wise, and the Audi has to make enough to compensate for the weight of quattro drive system.

What's the story?
The old RS6s were only faster to 60 due to better traction and automatic gearbox. Audi usually uses very long gearing in the higher gears, add the fact that both transmission and AWD sap power and worse aerodynamics (let alone the engine cooling) make it not much faster than the M5.
The new BMW has a 7-speed SMG transmission...
