of course it won't be the new S class for fleet buyers
but as an elegant and sporty limousine for individualists, it's quite on it's own. if they manager to get the quality OK and the residuals far from poor, this one could be a long term winner for maser.

Quality is a major point, that's for sure.
But don't you think, that the price is equally important? I remember back in 199.. something, when Maserati presented the 3200 GT. The car was as quick as a Carrera, but much cheaper when equipped identically. Of course quality seemed not to be at the same level.
Meanwhile with the 4200 GT, I can't see much difference in the price.
Same problem with the Quattroporte: price is rumoured to be between 90.000 Euro and 115.000 Euro. For that I will a get a MB S 55 AMG or a BMW 760i or an Alpina B7, all with more power than the Maserati.
