I really like the 993 Turbo lines, actually I like even more the 993 Carrera 4S, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful Porsche ever. I love Turbo cars anf their tipycal kind of power deliver. I never drove a 993 TT, but has already driven a 993 Carrera 2, I know it's not in the same league, but there are aspects that are the same on both cars. I didn't like the driving position, find the gearbox a bit slopy, pedals position and actuation seemed very strange, and the overall cabin feel was some how desapointed, with no ergonomics at all.
The newer Porsche are far better in all this aspects, but I was looking for real power, and after some engine tuningthis car can get you to 450 / 500Hp without having to empty your wallet, if you know what I mean. Even in standart form this car must be amazing, from what I read it feels faster than a 996 Turbo, which I have already gave a ride with a professional factory Porsche driver, and didn't impressed that much. Don't take me wrong, the car was fast and very, very sticky, but it didn't seem to be a 420Hp car. i know it's a very safe and everyday driveble car, but it didn't seem to have that wildness hiding soul that I'm looking. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe after driving a 993TT and 996TT back to back might change my mind, cabin, driving position, interior design and ergonomics for sure may play their rol in 996 favour, plus the ability to drive very fast without the need of putting yourself into trouble, but this might be exactly what's makes the 993TT more challaging
does this make sence
I've just had my first sun two two weeks ago, and the ideia of buying a 993TT at this time is not that appealing to the "family"
, I've already a 3.4L Boxster, Range Rover V8 and an everyday Audi A6 Avant 180 Diesel Hp, wife already drives a SUV
so buying one more "super toy" is not exactly my priority. But I know myself, and for the last days I've been having very bad thoughts
regarding the 993TT, and the cost mantainance is my main consern at this time as RC just increased that down side possible ownership.
