    more pics of the black 997GT3 at the ring

    Notice the rear shot, the rear bumper design looks nice. Overall much better than the aerokit on the carrera.

    And looks widebody. Suspension look -30mm aprox, but that front lip looks so low that it will pick up even the cigarette buds up from the ground

    It should come with the RS rear wing, also with carbon fiber.....like this it would be perfect!!

    hmmm, got to get used to that rear bumper The front looks dramatic too. Are those front lights smaller than the C2's headlights? Or are the directionals smaller?!?

    Haven't been here for a while, due to me moving into another house. Hopefully, by decembre internet will be fully available again, and I can start bothering you guys again!

    I still wonder if this isn't the rumored GT3 RS.
    GT3 = narrow body
    GT3 RS = wide body?

    Weird.

    Although I don't like cars with such huge wings, the 996 GT3 RS and maybe this new little baby, are my favorites. They look absolutely stunning.

    It most certainly does, all of a sudden that ugly wing doesn't seem so ugly anymore. Great job on the rear bumper!

    You might be right RC,
    As you can see, the bottom of the wing is slightly different from the one we have seen before on the GT3 and Aerokit pics. Also, (after getting used to it) I love the 996 GT3 RS wing. the vertical fins at the end make it look very slender. This 997 wing is not totally my cup of tea. I mostly like the wing of the mk1 GT3.

    PS RC; why does a gt3 have to be narrowbody? I know they have been in the past, and knowing porsche, they like to keep traditions alive. But if it makes handling better... why not on the normal GT3?

    I've have been very busy lately, and the 997S helps keep me sane I absolutely love the car, and I love the -20mm!

    I can answer that, who says wide-body makes it handle better? the reason for widebody it to acomodate the Turbocharging modifications on the rear engine platform, not for performance, the widebody in the atmospheric versions is puerly cosmetic i.e. tuboish-look.

    Thats whay the GT3 and the previous handling focused 911 versions were normal"body". Wider track is differenet, the GT3 has wider track that a Carrera but not wide"body", its not the same thing. The track depends on the individual properties of the car, and is so designed. The wider the track does not imply automatically better handling, just like wide tires does not mean better performance, they have to be in tune and optimised with the car's chararcteristics.
    So the GT3 does not need to be turbo widebody'ish, its body is only as wide as it's track needs it to. In fact the widebody is less aerodinamic.

    So the 997GT3 shouldn't be widebody unless for cosmetic reasons, which are valid since most people like widebody stance and looks. But the GT3 technically is a non nonsense car who's only compromises are made for handling and efficacy. But who knows, maybe the GT3 will be widerbody than the Carrera but less than the Turbo
