GT3 RS Sport Auto Testing Nuerburgring Pictures

One of our valued Users (thanks Martin!) sent us these pictures. It shows a GT3 RS with blue lettering ready for testing on the Nuerburgring and if you look carefully, you can even spot Horst v. Saurma, editor-in-chief of german car magazine SPORT AUTO who is a professional race driver and who does all SPORT AUTO Supertest testing on the Nuerburgring.
Results can be read in the upcoming Sport Auto this month and, of course, here on Rennteam.com.

Second Picture. This car looks great, whoever ordered it should be happy. I hope performance will keep up with it's looks.

Re: GT3 RS Sport Auto Testing Nuerburgring Pictures

    Last one.

Re: GT3 RS Sport Auto Testing Nuerburgring Pictures

Not so bad in blue either!
    Makes me think...
    Thanks for the nice pics.

Re: GT3 RS Sport Auto Testing Nuerburgring Pictures

    thanks for the pictures!!

i'm quite surprised that it's such a light blue! i expected a darker blue like on this toy car from the porsche online store:
    http://snurl.com/2jgs

i prefer red anyway -- more classic IMO and suits the rear lights and standard brake calipers better.

Re: GT3 RS Sport Auto Testing Nuerburgring Pictures

    zzboba,

I'm also a little bit suprised. I talked to a friend who saw the GT3 RS at the Nürnburgring. (There was a Sport Driving Event on the 29/30. Sept. from the European School Club) He said the blue is much more lighter than the red.
However, blue or red it is a great looking car.

@Luigi: Funny, I was also thinking to take the GT3 RS for a new picture. We should have a GT3 RS event next year...

    Blue

I frankly don't trust the blue in those photos. Look at some of the other blue or bluish parts of the photos. The jeans and shirts that people are wearing. The blues don't seem right. And take a look at the very blue colour to the glass reflections. I know that isn't the way it usually looks.

I think that the digital camera didn't get the colours right. Digital camera always need to be adjusted for the environment. At best they are an approximation if not adjusted. I think that is the situation here.

    Re: Blue

No, you're wrong. That is the colour.

It matches the seatbelts, which are Maritime blue.

I'm probably going to change my order to red as it looked too pale.

Stephen, what can I say...you got me, buddy.
The CIA and NSA are behind all of this, this is a special blue with hypnotic messages, making people believe that George Bush is the best track driver in the world.

C'mon, Stephen, you're even more doubtful than we Germans are and we're a pain in the a.. worldwide. We see conspiracy theories everywhere...

    Re: Blue

Looking at the picture beaver posted it seems to me that the rollcage on the RS is different from the one fitted to the GT3/GT2 Clubsport.
Maybe someone that was there can comment...

Re: GT3 RS Sport Auto Testing Nuerburgring Pictures

That blue looks good, real good

Re: GT3 RS Sport Auto Testing Nuerburgring Pictures

Yes, the cage was different. Has an extra piece welded in the centre where the cross bars meet. Think it has an extra diagonal bar too. They hadn't bolted in the front section though, so was unable to compare that part.

Still not sure wether the ride height is lower than Mk2 GT3, my fingers definitely caught the underside of the front wheelarch when I poked them in on top of the tyre, don't think that happens with my Mk2.

    Okokokokokok ... I believe!!! :)

Ride height is supposedly 3mm lower than the GT3, however I have yet to find a pair of Mk2's that share the same ride height...

Cage is differant to the CS as decribed.

Have to say a big thank you to Martin (even if he is a Spurs fan) having seen these pictures I have changed my spec to Red. That Blue is just too, too... well awful! Each to their own though!

Re: GT3 RS Sport Auto Testing Nuerburgring Pictures

    Paul,

Despite hating all things Arsenal I am changing to red as well.
Will be putting a "Don't follow me - follow Spurs" sticker on the rear window....

    Re: Okokokokokok ... I believe!!! :)

I went to Zuffenhausen at the end of October, I thought I had seen the same car, but the license plate has one different number (factory plate)

    Re: Okokokokokok ... I believe!!! :)

2 minutes later, plate was gone

    Re: Okokokokokok ... I believe!!! :)

This one looks not finished yet :

I went and viewed an RS last Friday in Blue and those photos are exactly how it looks! I really didn't like it, having owned several CS Porsche's in the past, I would definitely be choosing Red if I had the chance. The blue reminded me of the colour of one of my niece's dresses and looked out of character with the macho RS styling. Just my opinion, and for those of you waiting for blue cars....er, sorry - but you can always have it painted red later on

    Re: Blue

    Steve,

Have to agree with you on the colour.

Went to our local dealer who had a blue and red car in their compound, I am really glad that I changed my order to red even if it did delay delivery by 3 weeks!

I think it is a matter of personal choice, my personal choice is for Red.

BTW, I hope that is not my car half finished!!!!!!
