Hi OCEAN, those painted backrests of the sportseats, did they do that at the factory or was it "A Retrofit Job" done by some other company or a Porsche dealer ?? Is it easy to do afterwards ?? Thanks.
The rear center console looks aftermarket since I don't see the sand insert below the handbrake lever that Porsche installs. I would think that the airbag in the side of the new sport seat might make aftermarket painting a little more involved than previously.

The sportamatic was ahead of its time in many ways. It was a manual transmssion with an "automatic" clutch if I remember correctly. Movement of the gearshift lever (same as standard gearshift) engagaged the clutch without the need for depressing the third pedal (which was absent). There was a fully automatic mode as well I think. Not sure of the offering dates, 68/69 through 72/73?? Not a big hit.
