    ON THE CLS: LETS ASK THIS QUESTION:

    Ok, at first I was not the biggest fan of the CLS when i got my first look at, but after while i noticed how coupe like the car really does look, especially when viewed from the side, and it does have the proportions of a proper coupe w/ four real doors. Now my QUESTION is HOW MANY OF YOU ACTUALLY SEE AND UNDERSTAND THE PURPOSE IN THIS CAR? AND HOW MANY OF YOU WOULD ACTUALLY BUY ONE?

    Good point, the car looks good, but with the CLK, CL and S. I don't see the point of the CLS either.
    It does look good, not sure about the shape of the front lights but that's about it.

    I see what you are saying, however if you think about it, it does make up the difference in the price gap between the CLK and the CL? I think Mercedes Benz will have no problem finding buyers for this car whatsoever, especially here in S.C. Everyone has a Benz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    If the CLS will be prized between CLK and CL, it could be for those people, who think that

    - the CLK is too cheap and too small
    - the CL is too expensive and too big
    - the S is even bigger
    - the E is right size but too common

    And the CLS could be both: very special because of its unique design and rather practical with a lot of space because of its four doors.

    This is right so far, but I have one point to add:
    - It has four doors to differentiate it from the the CLK and the CL, because it is not SO MUCH smaller than the CL and not SO MUCH bigger than the CLK, and the CLS needs to, or at least should, have a gimmick, the CLK and CL don't have, and so it has four doors. The big advantage of this system is, that Mercedes can appeal to both groups of customers, people who want to have a sporty sedan and people who want to have an extravagant coupé.

    I think they will sell all they can make if the price isn't outrageous. Have you ever tried to get in the back seat of a CLK or CL, let alone actually sit there? The new CLS is a very "pretty" car. Wish my incoming 2004 E55 had the front end of the CLS.

    I think that the CLS will most definetly be the "roomiest coupe" on the market when it gets here, that alone should attract many buyers. It sounds as if most of you look at this car as a "coupe", which is a good thing I guess? Lets hope it feels like a "coupe" when you drive it!
