    What Items Do You Regurlarly Keep in Your Boxster

    So I was trying to determine what items I should keep in my new 987S. I'm thinking a flashlight, pen, microfiber towels, etc.

    I was wondering what other members keep in their Boxsters and where you recommend keeping those items; front compartment, rear compartment, glove box?

    Do I need to worry about heat in the compartments?

    Welcome to Rennteam I'm still waiting on my 987S but when I get it I plan to put as little as possible in it - less things to rattle around when going around corners

    I keep my golF clubs in the rear "boot" as we say over here, anything rattling in the back will be drowned by the 3.2 flat six!!

    I keep finding pairs of knickers. Not sure where they come from, but they're great for cleaning the PCM screen

    But seriously:

    A Roll of soft kitchen towel and a spray bottle of AutoGlym Fast Glass, kept behind the seat, for on-the-spot bird poop removal.

    A compact map of the UK that fits nicely in the pocket behind the seat. Had to go buy a small map though!

    Handbook, pen and paper in the glove compartment. Should have a disposable flash camera in there as well in case of accident, but a lot of people have cameras on their phones these days.

    Mobile phone charger and electronic tyre pressure guage in the cubby behind the handbrake.

    I keep my CDs in the driver side pocket. I only keep CD copies in the car, and put them in ring-binder cd sleeves. You can make a little flip-book of them with some treasury tags or ring-binder rings. Any of the soft CD wallets are just too big I think, so I had to make my own.

    I also keep a small packet of wet-wipes, for wiping hands post sun-screen application.

    And obligatory packet of mints, and some pro-plus. I think I've got a bottle of water behind the seat at the moment too.

    Oh, and I've lined the rear boot with a rug, to keep most of the dirt off. I often go to the DIY store or garden centre. It bemuses staff when you ask them to put a couple of bags of compost in the back.

    Glove compartment: Pen, paper, tire pressure gauge, small flashlight, car manual, some CDs, small soft sponge, ice scraper, pocket knife
    Door compartment: Energy drink, night/sun glasses, phone headset
    Center compartment: Tissues, emergency cosmetics, sun screen
    Seat pocket: Cap
    Front trunk: Big flashlight, first aid kit, waterproof blanket, combination tool, water, oil, plastic bag
    Rear trunk: Driving shoes, nylon bag with Porsche cleaning utensils/towels

    I'm missing some more emergency tools/supplies (starter cable, tow rope, coolant) and a camera. Not quite sure about the starter cable though since I would have to dig through the manual to find the battery access.

    Hey, this is better than playing The Generation Game!

    Ente, you reminded me. I've also got a waterproof emergency blanket and first aid kit in the front trunk. I keep the FAK in the CD changer bit. I don't bother keeping any oil or tools with me on the road. If anything dies it's going to be Porsche Assistance time. I usually like to keep a little head torch in the glove compartment too, but it's not in there right now. Oh and cap and sunglasses, I forgot those too.

    A small road atlas. Paranoid about the sat nav throwing a wobbler after four years with a BMW sat nav. You just get confident with it then "you are leaving the registered road network" or, having followed the electro-frauline's directions it suddenly pipes up "if possible, make a U turn" The Porsche one has been faultless thus far though; like the rest of the car. I also carry a duster, to run over the top of the dash and the PCM screen and wipe the interior mirror and inside of the windscreen when they get that milky film. Caps, for SWMBO and me, particularly me as my bald head gets sunburn. If I am touring then I chuck in a chamois leather for the windscreen and a tyre pressure gauge, as I don't trust filling station gauges.
