If it is a base Carrera in that part of the country I would think at least 5K off it is an S model at least 4K off. Probably can do better in the midwest but that would be the minimum IMO. Also if tempted to buy and if you are fussy (I am) look the car over real well I see salesman sitting and leaning against cars in invetory all the time and sometimes you will see a small ding in the tops of the fenders front or rear. Check it from all angles in good sunlight before you buy.

They have roughly $10K between making no money (their cost) and making all the money (their retail). They know that they'll likely make some money on it, '05 with 100 miles or not, so I think if you plopped down across the desk, checkbook opened up, with an offer of $6K or $7K off retail, they would wince and go for it. Any more than that, they'll likely wait for another buying customer on the car, which they'll probably get. That's my instinct on it at least.

It was an S but I ended up passing on it. I bought a fully loaded launch car with 3,600 miles for not much more than the new one. Same color and all the same options except the launch car has ceramics and adaptive sport seats. The car is very clean, clear title, etc ... Does not even feel broken in yet.
I have been waiting for several months to see how much the x51 would cost before making a move, but at 16k I passed. I am glad that I did. The 60 or so HP difference between the S and my 99 996 is noticeable but it is not huge difference. I don't think 26 more from where I am now would really make that much of a difference besides on paper and my pocket book.
Porsche is over pricing the X51 it to keep their price points rationalize across their product line.
