    Some interesting rumors

    I heard today that Porsche is devating everyone's attention from the main surprise by creating a hype on Turbo Cab and C4 S cab for the IAA Franfurt.

    I heard they've got something real exciting up their sleeves. Anyone has heard anything about this? or is just plain BS?

    could be... i won't think that they are going to present the 997 (while presenting 996 RS / TT cab and 4s cab at the same time).

    so it's either the new boxster (due to slowing down of sales, Z4 competition and upcoming SLK, but this would annoy some recent facelift buyers i could imagine) or maybe really the 4th porsche model... hmm... i think leipzig could use some better plant utilisation!

    There've been rumors that the new Boxster will appear in the fall of 2004.

    So, if Porsche reveals the new Boxster at the IIA show in September, it will just confirm what we're already expecting and further hurt Boxster sales for the next several months.

    I don't think Porsche can introduce the new Boxster as a 2004 model. It's way to late for that, right?

    Perhaps Porsche is planning on annoucing a return to a factory sponsored race team with the Carrera GT and the new GT3s?

    An "Opening-Version" of the Cayenne for the IAA in September.

    Announced today in the Financial Times (German edition).

    Ron, sorry for my english I mean the basis model "Cayenne" which probably would get less power than the "Cayenne S". Like the basis model "Boxster" and the more powerful "Boxster S".

    A further step in Porsches new product-mix strategy.

    Porsche didn't gave any technical specifications.

    Thanks RC for the GT2 info very impressive.

    Now it makes me wonder that may be after all Porsche won't have anything to show at IAA (Surprise announcements).

    Seems to me whatever they've had in their arsenal they have put out. Impressive 6 new cars in such short interval

    I agree with you Ron but I'm still no that impressed.
    I wouldn't call these cars new cars but evolution of the current ones.
    Engines tweaks, different spoilers, new rims,
    and for the Turbo and the C4S cab, yes they are stiffer than the Carrera cabs but it's not like the technology wasn't there.
    I'm still to be impressed with a REAL NEW model.
    So far, it's just been marketing really to keep th e996 going, going, going, going, and going...
