    Front trunk - I keep unlocking it

    Hi
    I am new to the car, however for some reason I keep unlocking the front bonnet - usually via the key. I dont regularly put anything in there - is there anyway to disable this function ?

    You can probably open the key and remove the plastic thingy that provides the contact beween the upper rubber and the electronic plate.
    I suggest you give it some time instead. It's a matter of habit.

    pressing the buttons on your key while in your pocket? don't worry you'll get used to it! :P

    If your key is on a key chain make sure it's not between other keys. (they get jealous).No, seriously the other keys press the front bonnet function. Try that. A seperate key chain for just the Porsche key will probably work too.

    Oh Dear Lord: Pleeeeeeeze don't let this be another 997 quirk.

    The "rub-the-headlight-open-the-hood" quirk has still got me reeling.

    This keeps happening to me in my new Boxster. On a few occasions I've returned to my car and found that the rear boot has been open (not fully, just on it's catch) and the doors were unlocked. A bit worrying really.
    I guess that I must be catching the button when putting the keys in my pocket. I now tend to hold the keys in my hand until I'm a distance away from the car, and then put them away.

    Me too. Maybe we need to design an itty bitty key-holster to protect the buttons. Maybe Porsche will release one and charge us an arm and a leg for it.

    millions of euros spent on designing of the car and they cock up with they key lol

    I've almost never done this as you need to hold the button down for about 1 sec to open the bonnet. It's on the same keyring as a BMW key, 3 other keys and a remote, and I keep the whole thing in my pocket! I'm sure you'll get used to it in the end and it won't be a problem!! Wish there were separate lock and unlock tho

    speaking of the key...Why is it so damn big and ugly? I do not like the plastic silver color look. but then again the 996 key was pretty big and ugly too. but at least the color was black back then.

    Better than having the remote as a separate unit to carry around. The BMW key is big too. Color? who cares? Maybe they're thinking silver looks better in a woman's purse.

    I think , concernig the look of the key they did a good job.
    It's really "designed". I like it.
    not a normal key for a special car...
    The only good alternative to me, would be a complete keyless-go.
    With only a start button e;g on the shifter...
