    Litronic upgrade for 996

    Is there a litronic upgrade available for post MY 2002 (post facelift to 'turbo' one piece lights) 996's? Or is it possible to just replace the halogen bulb with a Xenon bulb?

    yes silver bullet it is possible, i did that on my gt3 (my 2000). But the whole headlamp compartiment has to be replaced. I think the price was around 2500 Euro if i remember well. But IMO it's worth it!

    I think your GT3, being MY 2000, must be a MkI GT3 with the "old" 996 headlights - the ones that were also on the Boxster.

    My question pertains to the post MY 2002 996's with the facelift that gave the 996 the same headdlights as the Turbo (the "teardrop" headlights rather than the "fried egg" headlights).

    Thanks for the info though.

    It's hard to believe that after almost 24 hrs, there's no answer to this question on this, the best Porsche forum around.

    Nice site, but I can only find Litronics for the pre facelift 996's. I have a 2003 996. Am I just missing the correct link?

    yes true mine are the boxster-ish lamps but i think from tequipment you should get the newer headlamps too, for probably a similar price, didn't you ask yet at your porsche dealer?

    I haven't asked at my dealer, but I did search at Renntech, and it appears to not be possible, at least not without spending a small fortune.
