    997 Turbo and Targa? pics

    Guys,

    I'm not sure if this is old news for you but a friend of mine took this shot last week on the autobahn.

    Here are a few more 997 Turbo and Targa (maybe?)

    Actually, he did take about 35 pictures but many of them are simply from too far away. I think, as he approached the Turbo from behind and in heavy traffic, he wanted to make sure he got at least some.... Also, most are from the same angles.

    It's torture not being able to see the real thing, unmasked. I'm trying to visualize the foglight assembly in the middle of the large vents. I'm not liking it though. Hope it's camo.

    I don't think his is p.ss.d, he is WORRIED! Because they actually have to AVOID such situations when people get the chance to take a closer look at the prototypes. And taking pictures is even worse... Poor guy, I'm pretty sure that he gets some lecture as soon as the pictures make their way up to Porsche.

    Just imagine the 996 Turbo in the dress of the 997.
    No spectacular design, I'm afraid (first prototypes were somehow different) but FINALLY much more power, 480 HP.

    I get it, 480 hp is the "finally more power" vs. 415 hp
    RC, what to you think about the % price increase over 996 turbo? all the other models had modest % increases, but everone here seem to think the 997 turbo will be 10% or more higher MSRP??

    I'm so embarrassed... I didn't notice the link to the additional pictures. I was wondering why you guys kept talking about the driver's face. I'm like, huh? I can't see a face in the single picture included in the first post. DUH!

    I read somewhere (probably on rennteam.com) that the new Targa will only be offered as widebody with AWD

    traditionally, targas have been RWD narrowbody for the last 2 generations.

    Speculating and sharing gossip is part of what we do on this board, don't you think?

    For me it would makes sense to offer a 4/4S targa (in addition to the 2WD, of course). Actually more sense than a convertible. I hope Porsche will be able to develop a targa roof which also works with a stiffer suspension. For the 996 targa you couldn't even get the 10mm option.

    My dream car is a 997 turbo S targa with DSG - which will be as heavy as an S-Class Merc
