    Tail lamp pic

    Could someone take a PIC of a euro (ROW) Tail lamp showing the illuminated red band around the top edge at night...

    We in the US don't have the red band

    well, here is the picture and i only see two illuminated red blocks, not sure which red band you're talking about...

    Sorry, no illuminated topstrip .
    But, I think the two red blocks you see on the pic, are the reflectors, since my car has 3 bulbs in each unit...

    Can someone from Germany help me out on this one...RC?
    I was just in germany this past weekend and noticed this on a couple of 997's in our group
    The red band on the topedge above the clear illuminated...or am I going nuts

    There are two actually.
    One just below the rear screen and one built in the rear spoiler (when it is elevated it obscures the one below the rear screen so they put one in the spoiler as well!)

    yes but that's with the light switch on, is he talking about a reflector band or the lights?! i'm confused :?

    The top band doens't light up, but it looks reflective so if a light maybe from a car behind was hiting it it may have appeared as if it was lighting up by itself

    Thanks for the help and pics..
    Heres the deal, I was in Germany last week on a PCA tour and we had some 997 cars that we were driving, with lights on during the day and following two of them, myself and another person noticed what appeared to be the red band on the top of the lamp assembly illuminated. Did not take a closer look or try the lights at night.
    Guess it does not light up.
    Looks like we were mistaken

    BTW Germany is a wonderful country, my first visit, and I'am impressed, had a wonderful time visiting the factory, Weissach, Werk1, Lindau,and Rothenburg

    Maybe we get the chance to meet!
    I didn't look yet at the timeschedule for the IAA.
    The second week of september we go with 15 p-enthousiasts for a tour in England (we take the boat in Zeebrugge->Hull)

    Normally I go to Frankfurt on a sunday.(it's +/- 450km driving)
