Porker:Gnil:Frank, now you know why with 3 kids separated by less then 2 years each we had to get a Citroen C5
I understand very well
Although an Audi RS6 would've done the job just fine as well.
Without 3 proper independent seats at the back it would of been a war zone back there . And we needed automatic sliding doors . No hand left with all the stuff to carry. Trust me, I did way all the pros and cons. Finally practicality and peace won.

Your M5 CS is the much better (and faster) car. Not even the new RS6 Performance is as good.

Nono, I was referring to an RS6 as an alternative to Gnil's beautiful Citroën C5 at the time.

Even using the name Citroen in the same sentence with a RS6 is an insult...for Audi.

spudgun:My Iphone also won’t connect in my wife’s new BMW, very annoying..
Called my dealer, they solved by proposing a reset of the idrive, with the car in standby push and hold the volume button for 30 seconds, this resets your idrive, then reinstalled my phone and it works since.

Porker:Anyone else have issues with CarPlay connectivity in BMW? 50% of the time my iPhone doesn't connect to it, drives me nuts. Tried the obvious switching on off again.
Iphone is a 14 Pro.
No issues, I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max myself. I assume you have the latest iOS version? Not that it matters, never had issues with the older versions.
How about going to the dealership and letting them update the car's software? Takes a couple of hours but when you're up to date, all systems should run normally. The MyBMW App doesn't always update to the latest available software.
My son has a 2020 G20 320d xDrive and the latest software version was from 2020. There was a recall and they updated the software, now it is a 2023 version and there are some noticeable differences, especially the driving assist systems are working smoother/better and the chassis/steering also seems to be better now.
Just an idea...

Took the long way round to meet with a supplier in Forte Dei Marmi. A reminder to take your care instead of a plane once in a while, and to take the passes instead of the tunnels. Just lovely.
Also to be noted, the A15 from Parma to the coast in Italy, what a brilliant sweeping Autostrada.
The M5 continues to impress, it also seems my consumption is going doing a bit, perhaps now the engine is properly run in? (11k km).

Porker, a very successful concept this car.
The ultimate modern day Q car (as such cars used to be called in the 60s and 70s).
An undercover performance car with power and road manners all dressed in an unassuming exterior.
Have you come across any good Porsches on this type of roads for comparison?

"Porsche....and Nothing else matters"
Porker:Gnil:In one day ?
I left Forte Dei Marmi at 19.30, touchdown in Brussels at 5.30AM, I prefer to drive at night!
Less traffic, for sure, at night.
In the previous century, the "safest" (for one's wallet) conditions to exceed the speed limit on rural super-highways was during a rain storm. The troopers had a hard time seeing you approach and the vast majority did not want to exit the comfort of their patrol cars and get wet during a traffic stop.

How do you keep yourself awake, or are you a night owl. I prefer a really early start, on the road by 5 as i was taught all mileage before 9 in the morning counts double. I would like to drive through the night, less traffic, but staying awake at 100% for me is difficult!

I'm not a morning person. :)

The CS has had a busy few months, 15k km now done. It remains an absolute blast. Last trip was to Gstaad to pick up the green 500E you see in the photos, and from there over the Alps to Provence in France for the family Holiday (some truly fabulous roads in that region), and then back to Alps, and then up to Germany. Most of it loaded with 1 of 2 dogs, and 1 of 2 children, and heavily loaded up on Côte du Rhone on the way back (hence the lowered ride height in some photos).
The car remains an absolute dream, so versatile. In standard mode it cruises along better than the E63 would (comfier ride, smoother 'box). Once in M1 (everything turned to 11, and 4WD Sport), it's more lively and more fun to drive than my E46 M3 CSL ever was, for example. If you feel like playing, select M2 and you're sliding around in a cloud of your own smoke in 2WD mode. Fantastic fun.

Haha Frank,
Madame's 500E [1992] was exactly that met green but with tan interior - our first non 911 as the Labs were no longer fitting. The best MBs are built by "Porsche". Nice buy.
