    997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

Just a couple of pics of my Carrera S with the full Rinspeed kit, 19" Champion wheels, Techart headlamp rings, and H&R springs. I have had this on for about 1 month. The kit's fit and finish is excellent. The wheels are about 2lbs lighter per wheel than the stock lobster forks. Suspensions isn't too stiff, just a bit more than stock.

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

That car is so disgusting Joe. I think you need to just give it to me, and go back to the G38

The car looks as sick as ever. I can't wait to get the matching 997TT, as long as I get rid of the DB9!!

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

    Beautiful! I love the wheels...

    No way! Thanks a lot.

    She's looking great.

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

Very nice. I really like the rims, they suit the car well. However I'm not a huge fan of that wing; it looks a little awkward from the side.

    Congradulations though

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

Thanks Kunal, looking at the pics I noticed they seem a little distorted especially around the wheel area, I don't know why they are like that? They aren't like that on my original pics, oh well I guess. If anyone wants some non-distorted hi-res, just ask and I can e-mail.

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

    Hi there joe.

    Beautiful car.

What does the kit consist of?

Tail, side skirt, anything else i'm missing?

    thanks

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

congrats joeacc, car looks great! question: did they disable the rear tail coming up now that you have the wing on?

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

    Sweet dewd!

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

    Sweet motor my friend!

Not usually a fan of aftermarket bits, but those wheels look very nice, especially with the fat carbon disks behind!

    Nice

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

    WOW !!!!!

These wheels look great. Can you please post a link to the manufacturer's homepage (I didn't find it)

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

    Very good looking care!
How is PASM working with the H&R springs compared to stock? Is the difference between normal ans sports mode the same as before?
Coulds you also please post a pic from the front as to see the headlight Techart parts.... Thanks

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

I love those headlight rings, makes the 997 look MUCH more sporty.

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

That is awesome and I am so jealous.

Please can you give us links to all the various bits required? The wheels, the sideskirts/wing, and the headlamp covers.

    Truly beautiful

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

As final touch I would add some spacers from about 1cm, especially at the back.

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

Very nice. I even like the wing (not much of wing man usually, more of ...nevermind). I may go with H&R springs as well. To echo the above post, how do you like them, how are they different?

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

I like it very much...I wonder when porsche is going to launch a carrera rear wing just like they did with the 996 mk2.

    Woshhhhhhhhh...Thanks for sharing

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

Your car really looks great, I love the wheels!!
They don't look 'aftermarketish' at all!
The kit looks clean too, is there some kind of front spoiler too? Can't really see it on the pictures.

Is there more windnoise caused by the headlight rings?

    Awesome car!!!

    I'm also curious about that.

How do black rings fit on? Do the original rings come off easily?

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

Come on joeacc...tell us more about the suspension mod. There are many people out there who want something a little bit lowered.

Just hate my self not ordering -20mm...

BTW are your sure guys that LSD won't be retrofitted?

I was even looking mobile.de for a used car with sport suspension

No, no, keep them coming! Nice car!

Did you compare handling and ride of the PCCB equipped car with the std. 997 S?

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

Sorry I have been away to answer all of the questions. Thanks for all of the compliments guys. First, the PASM works great with the H&R springs. The sport button still works the same, just that on both modes, the ride is just barely stiffer. The springs lower a Carrera S with PASM about .75 inches all the way around. I highly recommend them, they only costed $330 shipped. You will need to re-align the car after installing though.

Next the headlight rings, there are no stock or original rings on the 997. They fit very well. I have no added noise or complaints. In my opinion they bring the top of the fender all of the way out to the edge of the headlight lense, getting rid of the cheap looking plastic part of the headlights. It looks even more like a newer cleaner looking 993 to me. They come primed, ready to paint. They install with glue or double back tape. They also come with headlight washer covers, that still allow the washers to work. I know the glue or tape install doesn't sound very substantial as opposed to screws or bolts, but they fit like oem, very snug, and you won't have any problems with it.

As far as spacers, there is no way they will fit. These wheels are already 19x8.5 and 19x11.5 with a 295/30/19 rear tire. I purchased these from Brandywine Porsche. They contracted Champion wheels to build this wheel for the 997, I believe. I haven't found these wheels anywhere else. Last I looked they only had one set left of their original production, and the next run wasn't starting until Sept. You can call the parts manager their, the link is Brandywineporsche.com. I love the quality and look of these wheels. They also do look oem to me. They are only a one piece, but still have an unobstructed lip, and are very light. Granted only three pounds lighter than stock (wheel & tire combo), but remember the wheels are wider and the tires are wider.

Yes there is a front lip spoiler. The Rinspeed kit is all fiberglass, but the fit and the finish is excellent. There is also a rear diffuser which you can see on the rear end pic of the car. If interested in the kit talk to Jens at Rinspeed.com. The company is in Switzerland. I had it air shipped here to the USA, and painted & installed the kit myself. I own a bodyshop so I am always playing with my cars. The kit is both screwed on and glued on all the way around.

I never really got a chance to compare the ride of pccb car to standard, but I can tell you mine sure feels like a go-cart. I love it.

Other mods include a Evolution Motorsports intake, which really sounds great from 5000 rpms on up. Also Fabspeed headers and pro-max mufflers. Definately an improvement over stock in my opinion. But exhaust is such a opinionated topic.

I will get a couple of frontal pics up soon.

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

Really sorry, I prefer a naked one...

    Re: 997 Carrera S w/Rinspeed kit & Champion wheels

Sick car, it's something that I was considering for my S.

    congrats!
