    Back from a Boxster Summit in a 997! Pictures!

    I agreed to go before I sold my 02 Boxster S. I'm glad I did! What an awesome time! I haven't had this much fun driving mountain roads since Europe! And the people at the Blue Ridge Boxster Summit were outstanding! Check out www.brbs.org for the history and setting.

    Forming up the Staunton convoy to Blowing Rock, NC after an overnight at a local hotel. Some former Boxster owners remain loyal even with Ferraris.

    Cops blew pass me and stopped the other 16 cars in the Staunton convoy. I got lucky I guess.

    This second picture really accentuates the differences between the 996 and 997. I can fully appreciate the more muscular lines/panels of the 997.

    Sorry if this is a dumb question, but the cop stopped them for speeding?

    Or was it some other type of harassment related to being in a large parade-like group?

    Gotta tell ya stopping 16 presumably excellent drivers for enjoying their excellent cars probably slightly over the limit really makes that cop deserve being called a Pig.

    Thanks for sharing Holmi. The blue ridge parkway is beautiful to drive along. So did you see any bears or did you wisely let the speed yellows head the group so the bears got blinded and stayed in the woods? ;-)

    No bears. A red 987 and my car plowed the road ahead looking for cops (yeah, we were the cop bait). When we saw the cops, we radioed back to the main group, but found out we were so far ahead that we lost radio contact so I dropped back. By the time I was in range to warn the group or rather by the time the group heard my warning, the cop came around a large rock and nailed them for speeding. The cop gave the 1st guy in the main group a ticket and gave the rest of them a 30-minute lecture on the dangers of speeding.

    Wow.. very, very nice Tony. I really should have gone, as it looks like you had a great time. I can't believe that cop stopped 16 of you... it probably made his entire career worthwhile talking and walking through 16 Porsches like that. Handing out tickets for him will be a real from now on.

    I hate i missed all the fun this year, i live in Blowing Rock but was out of town, Hope you enjoyed the new pavement section of Shulls Mill Road to Hound Ears! My 997s loves that road.
