Seems a bit too much Patriot, member Trundle997S quoted an internal TBS (Porsche Technical Service Bulletin) showing an install time of 4,4hrs for the PSE in sport chrono cars and 3,3hrs on non-sport chrono cars

My selling dealer quoted me 10 hours ($1,000) to install PSE for my 997. Does that sound right? Part is $2,090.00
Does that sound correct?

I just put my check in the mail to the dealer for the PSE part for my base 997
w/o Sport Chrono. For cars such as mine without Sport Chrono, don't I get a switch on the console to turn it on or off? The Parts guy said he didn't think so, but I'm almost positive I do. Please confirm.

I was quoted $2,091 + tax for PSE plus $805 labor for installation on a Sport Chrono 997S.
Another dealer quoted me $2,160 plus tax for PSE and $1,200 for labor to install on Sport Chrono 997S.

Thats a very high margin quote. There are only 3 major steps to installing a PSE on a 997S
1. R&R mufflers
2. Run vacuum lines to mufflers, install vacuum switch, and run lines to vacuum pump, and connect muffler lines.
3. Run one cable from vacuum switch to the DME that is more or less above the engine under the rear package tray in the cabin. The DME does not need to be reprogramed to make the PSE work.
It is actually easier to do than on a 996. Should be much cheaper to install. More like $400. (@$100/hr)

Yesss that's a lot of work!!!
I have another question...Is it necessary that the car has to be tested by the mechanics(I mean driving the car), once the PSE is install??? or in other words...How do they test the PSE once it is install......may be is a dumb question

After checking for and clearing any faults with PIWIS, the testing consists of the following:
"Start vehicle, press "SPORT" or DOUBLE Tailpipe" (extra button installed on NON-Sport Chrono cars)
After reaction time (pneumatic) of approx. 1-2 seconds, the exhaust engine note must clearly change.
[!] NOTE! The proper operation of the sport exhaust system can also be checked by a second person using visiual check of the control path (linkage on exhaust flaps).
If operation is correct, the light-emitting diode in the button starts to light up."

I just finished reading through the installation instructions for the PSE. The installation includes the following:
Removing standard mufflers
......
I don't know about you, but I would be hard pressed to believe that this installation could be done in 3.3 hours in a 997S with Sport Chrono.
