    The Porsche 911 -- the most overwhelmingly male passenger car -- has an "Index Male to Total" of 214.3, for example. That's more than double the average. The car's "Index Female to Total," on the other hand, is just 14.3.

    It's surprising the 911 doesn't grow hair on its hood and eat Krispy Kreme for breakfast.

    i've seen just as much woman drive 996 c4s cabs here has guys... it's different for every part of the world i guess.

    Yeah, that's if they are the ones who had to buy it.
    If they weren't paying for it, it would be a Porsche, BMW, or a Benz. I'm sure they would like their man to be driving a Porsche over a Pontiac....

    They did the ratios to figure out how many guys buy the car?

    And found that there are more men than women right?

    I guess they never looked at the other side of the car... I bet they will find the women there

    I pulled up to a girl in a 911 Cab, but I noticed it was tiptronic and I was quite turned off.

    Anne Bancroft died today...

    Her Mrs. Robinson character in The Graduate ("You're trying to seduce me, aren't you Mrs. Robinson?") is the type of female personality I imagine when I see a woman behind the wheel of a 911. Sexy, smart, sophisticated and not afraid to get what she wants.

    Tiptronic? What fun is a Porsche if you don't have the manual tranmission to play with? When presented with a tiptronic at the dealer, I walked away and said "No thank you." It's a 6 speed stick for me all the way.... As a matter of fact, I had to wait for my car to get off the boat from Germany to get what I wanted...

    So you are right Jeff, I drive a 911 and I am not afraid to get what I want... As for the rest? Those are things you must see in person to decide on...

    Spoken like a true 20-something.

    I'd take a "Tiptronic" if it were DSG. The only problem with a Tip is loss of HP, IMO. Don't knock it unless you test drive one. If you live with alot of commuter traffic a clutch is a PITA in any car.

    You are absolutely right MMD and I stand corrected. It was a rather thoughtless thing to say...

    If I were in a heavy communter traffic on a daily basis, I certainly would never consider a manual transmission, and I should know more than anyone, given that a family member of mine has little use of one arm that a tiptronic transmission would be an absolute necessity for her.

    I apologize for my thoughtless statement....
