For the Wife... Boxter S or Cayman?

Hello Gents...

I could use some help, my wife has been eager to drive my car and since her birthday is coming up in August I was wondering which would be a better gift...

Boxter S - Black with red interior?

Or

Cayman S - White with red interior?

I am leaning towards the Cayman S since it's new and not many people here in the bay area have it also I can give her the options list and have choose the options and the colors, but I guess I can do that with the Boxter as well.... Aaargh what to do?

If she wants the car in August, Boxster then as the Cayman arrives only end of year.
If she wants a Black car, Boxster, white car, Cayman.
If she wants an open top car, Boxster, coupe, Cayman.
Difficult choices.
Don't get the Cayman bc it's rarer, wrong reasons, from a distance, it'll look like any Porsche, Boxster and even 997 to a certain extent.
Get it if your wife wants really prefers closed cars, or white cars!!!

Alternatively divorce her and marry me!

Why not go for the Cayman and share - one convertible and one coupe.... then you get the best of both worlds too....

If it's the 997 S cab she craves, neither the Boxster nor the Cayman may save you.

A friend of mine was in a similar situation, years ago. He ended up getting her the exact same car he had (model/engine), just in a different color and with her options.

If your wifes loves convertibles and an open top, get her a Boxster S.
My wife hated the Cayman S when she saw the pictures, she says it is butt ugly.
She loves how the Boxster looks but doesn't like soft tops too much.
After her SLK 32 AMG, she wanted a roadster again.
All her girl friends admire her for getting the Boxster S now, they all say it is their dream car. And this is everything a woman wants to hear from her girl friends.

Maybe you should just let your wife decide what she wants.

Went and test drove a Boxter S today it was Slate Grey on black all leather and Premiere Package I think

, she loved it !!!!

and we might pick it up Saturday after they replace the rims from the stock to the 19" Classic Carrera.

I Really appreciate the input Gentlemen... Although we have not signed the dotted line I am very excited for her even more so because it will be her first time to own a true manual transmission sports car.

We found two slate grey Boxters one with tan leather (although sold) and the other with black leather (test drove) both looked stunning to be honest.

At this point is it better to order or pick the one we like on stock with the dealer

thats a very nice combination seeing in real picture...

i am wondering does sand interior gets dirty easily? since its very light colour?

anyone had sand on their previous porsche?

Malmsteen, the sand interior is very sandy/tan rather than beige - I've definitely had lighter leather interiors (biscuit leather, etc.) in cars, and even so they stood up to daily use perfectly ok. 600 miles so far and not a spec of dirt on the interior (carpets aside

)... I've driven mostly roof down too. One advantage with llighter leather is that you can see any marks that appear and clean them asap. When I clean the car I find the carpet needs vacuuming but the rest of the interior looks good as new. I may be more concerned about sand carpet if I lived somewhere with more wet weather, but then again new floormats every spring isn't such a big deal.

AAHH SHUCKS dude thanks

... No biggy she does deserve it for all those times i slept in the garage with my 997

... oh and those times too that i was not home and drove around all weekend.

Although I must add that today was another round of "lets go look" we checked back with the Slate Grey then looked at a red and tan again and after a 3 hour talk about whether to go do it or not she says "lets go home and configure online" wOw the little womans energy drives me nuts!! much love baby!
