    My dads 997s got HIT today!!! pictures =(

    Hey guys, well my dads 997s was hit today. The car was parked in the corner, hidden away from the other cars... some "older" lady (60's or so) came in at high speeds, hit the lexus parked by him, the lexus slid (sp?) sideways and struck my dads front right fender! The lady then put it in reverse and accelerated, slamming her rear into THREE MORE cars parked behind her. In total 5 cars were hit, my dads being the least hurt, although will be the most expensive to repair probably. Insurance has got it covered, but its still a big shame that this perfect car was marred. I keep very good care of it, its really sad

    Anyway, he knows a guy intown that does exotics, my dad used him for his old 993 (i think it was a 993, i was young) and his old NSX. So it should be in good hands.

    All things considered, it sounds as if it could have been much worse! I hope they throw the book at her( at least revoke her license).

    It sounds as if this beauty will be in good hands for the repair.

    i appreciate the replies, i sure hope that lady gets her license revoked, because that behavior is horrible, she hit FIVE CARS!

    Aw sheet! I initially was hoping from first photo that door wasn't involved. Sucks to find out it was. Getting that gap (kerf) between panels even might be trouble. Suuuuuucks.

    What a nightmare! These events always make me want to lease rather than buy - after all, even if you have a Porsche bodyshop fix the car, it's value has now significantly dropped....

    YIKES!! i feel all depressed, i hope that lady gets thrown behind bars for a few days and gets her license revoked forever!! people like that should stay off the roads period!

    man.... ive had a "old lay" incident as well...
    Ps didnt your mom teach you not to dirty your socks by walking on garage floors with them on...i can see you in the 2nd pic. I know who you are now... you'd better sleep with one eye open. HAHA HAHAHA HAHAHA HA HA(place evil psycho laugh here)

    This hurts a lot, but banning a lady of 60 out off the road is cruel too...
    I'm 44 and can't imagine that one takes my licence in 16 years...
    My dad is 85 , bought last year an audi A2 and drives it every day(15000km / year)
    He enjoys driving a lot, altough he also makes mistakes...
    But RESPECT for active aging people pleas...

    Sure beltar , but there should be a re-test at 60yrs for everyone..

    There's nothing wrong with older people driving... much respect to those over 60 and can still muster the reflexes to handle a performance car...

    But please gimme a break I have had not one, not two, but three "elderly accidents" twice while parked once while I was just minding my own business stopped on a RED LIGHT!!!! The cars that have been marred by these "elderly accidents" are below

    2002 Lexus IS 300 (Rear Quarter Panel 6-7 inch gash February Daly City Albertsons Grocery)
    2002 Landrover Discovery (Red Light South Spruce Ave Cross St El Camino)
    Most recently - 2003 BMW X5 4.6is (Rear Bumper although slight it's still a pisser!! Stones Town Galleria)

    Nevertheless, I did let these things go without asking for payment or repairs [except for the Red Light because a cop was at the scene] simply because I know it's difficult to be mobile and aged at the same time here in CALI. I use to work for a care home when I got here.

    Bottom line... IMHO if a person has limited or deteriorated capacity to handle an automobile take the damn bus... it's cheaper, safer, and saves more pavement to drive AND park nice cars... although the same apply to young careless drivers....

    Fortunately, I think this is not that bad a repair overall, thank god no frame damage, a little bit harder and ud be in REAL trouble.

    I'm really sorry that your Dad's car got hit. That said, your wanting to "publicly lynch" the 'ol lady just because she's old goes beyond the pale. There's hardly a day goes by when you can pick up the newspaper and find horrendous accidents caused by the old and yes the young. Care to compare insuramce rates sonny?

    Yes, I'm considered a senior and ordinarily don't rise to the bait of senior bashing. Indeed, my wife, friends and some athletes I coach refer to me as "the 'ol guy". A term of endearment so far as I'm concerned - but I digress (I'm old, I'm allowed).

    Think a moment. She lost control of her car; s**t happens; deal with it. How many of you have done the same? How many of you hollier than thou have lost control of your car and had an accident or an off course excursion during a DE. I don't see any of you calling for a license revocation or fileting yourself or your buddy.

    I apologize if I've offended Andrew or any of the other "lets give her a fair trial and hang the guilty bastard" folks commenting in this thread. But, ya know, if the shoe fits..........

    When something like this happens you look for something to blame to make it feel a little better. Even if the person was totally normal you'd call them a moron etc. Bad drivers are a problem but that's where the system comes in and is supposed to weed them out for us.

    It's not old people, it's old idiots. Idiots come in all ages. Unfortunately, they tend to get more dangerous behind the wheel as they become older. People are like computers, some are state-of-the-art and fast and nimble. Others take 10 minutes to boot up, and never work right, and take forever to cypher the most basic tasks. Sorry about the boo boo. Times like these when knowing a truly gifted body and paint man really pays off!!!

    by no means am i bashing older people, i agree with 69bossnine, she just happend to be an [censored] driver, but an old [censored] driver, granted i would think that teenage boys are the most dangerous of all drivers... anyway thanks for the replies!

    my dad got a quote from the bodyshop (its a good shop from what i have heard, they deal with ferrari's, etc) its $2,400 or so...

    i dont think that includes the wheel, the wheel took some damage and is scratched, etc... i would like to have it replaced, and im sure my dad would too - i wonder how much a replacement would cost.
