    practicality

what do you guys think of me going to use the CS as my everyday car... ive heard the car being revved and all that but does the sound start to irritate on long distance driving?? how loud is it exactly when really going for it(from inside) and does ur butt start to throb when driving for long. i drive a golf4 gti at the moment and that is not really HUGE problem, even though it has recaro seats. ...

there is a difference between seeing the car and being around it and having to live with it everyday

    Re: practicality

It's a joy to live with every day. And..... are you SURE you're 20???? When I was 20, the words "practicality" and "car" were mutually exclusive. The 997S is very quiet in the cabin at speed, and the seats are incredible for long trips. I drive mine every day, and I'm a 37 year-old fart.

    Re: practicality

The sound will never irritate you. Only when you bury the throttle will it get loud but that's nice too.

Practicality was not in my vocabulary until I was 30. Maybe you're a mature 20 year old.

    Re: practicality

I drive mine everyday and you practically have to get a crow bar to extract me from the interior. I live 12 miles from my office and have discovered many new ways home, ranging from 20 to 38 miles and now that the nice weather is here, the range may be extended.

    Re: practicality

Sorry, I almost forgot. Welcome aboard!!!

    Re: practicality

I only drive mine on weekends mainly because I don't have time during the week to drive it. Plus I guess it keeps me excited everytime I see the car because of the waiting during the week

by the way, nice to see a fellow South African on here! Greetings from Pretoria!

    Re: practicality

hey, its just that its gonna be my 1 and only car... i just wanted to know if its gonna be a problem to use this car everyday... i dnt think it will be

I am in the same boat like yourself. I asked this question last week. Apparently, it is fine to drive the 911 daily as this is how it was designed. What I am not sure about is storage space for when I am going on holiday with my wife.

    Re: practicality

i can be very easily an everyday car BCE, but it's just me when i only drive my nice cars on the weekends ;p the ground clearance is also decent, we have some big ass speed bumps here in pretoria, but if i hit them slow enough the car doesn't scrape the tarmac or anything!

    Re: practicality

I have a friend who's a real estate appraiser and uses is 996 everyday without issues he racks a bunch of miles and the car simply holds up to the daily wear and tear no problems.

    Re: practicality

does the ground clearance cause problems??

    Re: practicality

NOPE dont worry, of course it depends on what you have in mind, but until now nobody has reported that caused him a problem in usage

    Re: practicality

I drive it every single moment that I can. I have been on 300 mile roadtrips and at the end of the day have a huge smile on my face still...

    Re: practicality

I don't think you have to worry about practicality BC, It is very comfortable inside the cabin and it does not feel too rough on high way at high speed. I personally don't like to take a long road trip in my cars , even if the car is an SUV. I am sure that driving long with the 997 will be very fun, unlike other cars.

    Re: practicality

If i remember properly you are also kinda young???
if so, why did you go for a SUV and not a sportier car??
i'll never take a cayenne over the Cs im gonna get.
    maybe we're just different.

hey BCE, up here we have got more speed traps than um wild animals... I think our province has one of the most speed bumps out of any other in the world, and let me tell you.. there are some BIG ones! if you go over them skew the 997 will clear it EASY, i even drove my 997 up a 15cm curb, no hassle obviously with some cautious driving

Welcome to the Cayenne + Carrera Club JL13

    Re: practicality

LOL, Mike, thinking that i earn a lot on stock.. I think i will also order the new C4s.. Cayenne +C2s+C4s Club...

    Re: practicality
