I think porsche US or Porsche North America made............

an mistake online when they said....
"Powered by the proven 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine, which has an output of 325 hp (SAE), the Carrera 4 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (0-96 km/h)in 4.6 seconds and has a top track speed of 174 mph (280 km/h). The Carrera 4S is equipped with a larger 3.8-liter engine that develops 355 hp (SAE) and accelerates the car from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.6 seconds and to a top track speed of 179 mph (288 km/h)."

Why would the Carrera 4 go 0-60 in 4.6 seconds like the Carrera 4S. Obviously a typo I thought I would point out. Just funny its on the porsche website. Some people get mad when car and driver makes mistakes(like the one about cayman positioning a pricing) Well porsche does it too apparantly.....

I don't think it's a mistake dsts6. It's written on every Porsche site across the globe AND it also says the same on the new brochures.

No actually its a typo. Just checked www.onlyporsche.net and I think on the debut pages and other stuff it says 0-60 in 4.9 and 0-60 in 4.6 for the 3.6 and 3.8 respectively. There is not reason why they would market a car with a bigger engine that does the exact same 0-60. They confused a 9 with a 6, it happens I guess.

maybe 0-60 is same but 0-120 is surely different!

On mine it says 0 to 100km/h in 5.1 for the C4
and 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8..... it seems all a bit confusing!
What are the figures for 0 to 62 MPH ?

dont worry, i believe that c4 is slower than c2(5.1 v 5.0)
whereas the C4S is equal with C2S (0-100=4.8)

I think partially this maybe be cause due to changes in tires

C2 REAR=265/40 18 C2S REAR= 295/30 19
C4 REAR=295/35 18 C4S REAR= 305/30 19

BETWEEN C2 V C4 THE TIRE IN 3 SIZES BIGGER

WHEREAS IN

C2S V C4S THE DIFFERENCE IS ONLY ONE SIZE BIGGER

Didn't C&G or R&T have an incredible low time for 0-60on the 997/S? Well... .

Assuming it's NOT a typo:
It just means how much you want to torture the drivetrain and tires. You can get a range of numbers on any give test day and publish any one you want.

not a great point for sure but: the 0-60 times are based on how much potentially destructive abuse you want to give the clutch and drivetrain, on the conditions that day, on the tires, on the specific individual car tested etc.

I'm sure there's a "bottom-line hit-a-brick-wall" time which would involve serious abuse to the car. It would also be the absolute fastest 0-60 time possible.

If Porsche published THAT time there would be a HUGE controversy.

So: announced/ published 0-60 times are far from scientific facts, there're subjective.

Just my opinion... .

I saw on some other sites and places about the 0-60 times. I'm pretty much convinced they made a mistake. Other sites have a paragraph, like the one I posted that say either the identical things or sentences very similar, and they had the times of 4.6 and 4.9. Sorry if what I said was hard to understand. Bad english........
