Just for info : I was not able to order the chrome tailpipe when I ordered my 987 S end december.
Nevertheless, I called my dealer early february about the possibility to add stainless steel tailpipe ; I had last year a Boxster S 550 spyder with beautiful exhaust, and I tought it will be the same for the new S tequipment part.
Even if it's not the case (it's a shame), my dealer recalled me and ensured that it is possible to mount it in addition, and will be mounted at the factory when I will come to take my car.
