KMM:No, the tach; see images above. I know some people criticized the analog tach as a unnecessary retro touch, but looking at the pictures above, it definitely looks like something has been lost. Perhaps they will offer the analog tach as an option, though I doubt it.
IMO the analog tach on the 992 was a very nicely done retro touch and it was beautiful to look at, removing it will be a shame and yet another thing that reduces the character...

I totally agree! It is a shame the way things are going. I love the analog gauges in my 997.
If I don't fly, I drive my .:RS :)

Also looks like they made the gauges overlapping now, so the outer two can be seen through the steering wheel (badly blocked in 992.1).

In the two images you posted above, what's the biggest circular dial in the center of the gauge cluster? The one graduated 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 in red? Has a digit "0" in the center, which looks like a digital speedo..
Sure looks like a tach to me.
Maybe you meant "mechanical" instead of "analog"???

Yes, I think this is causing the confusion.

Many factors probably drove this decision including costs; however, many reviewers and customers expressed concerns that the steering wheel blocked the outer gauges. This layout allows for overlapping gauge cluster while providing different graphics determinant upon drive mode selected. It also standardizes that the design with other Porsches including the Taycan and could also indicate that the 922.2 is going plug-in hybrid.

Gnil:That red line is indeed low. Rumor says engines will be NA.
So maybe a big displacement with low red line ? But looks more like the 3.0 turbo engine with that red line.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a 992.2 version with the 4.0L NA motor from the 718 series (but redline there is 8,000 rpm). I wouldn't expect to see a redline lower than 7k on anything but a heavily turbocharged motor.

The steering wheel has always partially blocked the outer gauges in a 911. Not new to the 992.
