A really subtle touring.  I needed to look twice at the images to notice that your new 911 is a touring.  In the last image, I note that there is a locator tab at the bottom of the door and previously don't recall seeing this on other 992s.  Is this a new addition or something specific to the GT3/Touring?

I think that thing on the door inserts into the bottom of the frame when the door is closed and is part of the safety features of the car (locks the door closed from there in a rollover or something - or maybe contributes to theft prevention).  I've noticed it on my car too.

It definitely is a locator tab with a possible locking function but I don’t recall seeing that feature on other 992s.

    Re: 992 GT3

Had it on my 992 C4s

    Re: 992 GT3

It was already on the previous generation.

The car needs a wing. Otherwise, it looks like a run of the mill 911 particularly  viewing it from the side silhouette. Are those silver wheels? My reason for asking is I had thought you were ordering the “gold” wheels.

    1)  Looking like a run-of-the-mill 911 is EXACTLY what I wanted Smiley  I have retired from winged 911s.  "Normal" 911s are lower profile and winged 911s unintentionally provoke too many crazy fast-and-furious street racers into aggressive behavior.  I'm too old for impromptu street racing.

    2)  The white balance in the pix may be off a bit.  The wheels are indeed CXX painted Weißgold.  Not just Gold, but Weißgold.  Same as 991 GT2RS magnesium wheel color.

Speaking of tires, my 992 GT3T came with P Zero Corsa tires.

What should I expect compared to Cup2 with which I am familiar?

The Pirellis are good.  They work a bit better in the cold, last longer, and are nearly as fast on track.  Not too bad in the wet too...

Hmm, I would put it this way, they last longer than the Cup2s, wet traction is a bit worse, it also doesn't like cold, cold and wet you will be skating. On track it doesn't have the ultimate grip of the Cup2 but it's more confidence inspiring with gentle limits.

My old Aston came with Corsa, one time I went to Whistler to exchange the 911R back, which is in Cup2s. Cold wet winter night. I was pretty much sliding the whole way up, one of the scariest drive. On the way back in the 911R I was hauling like there is no tomorrow. Even aquaplaning was no problem, the slide is very very predictable.

But that was Aston's version of the Corsa, Porsche's version could differs.

Stil not trusting Pirelli. I did the same road with Cup2s on my old Speciale, pretty much same condition, the Speciale was like a pussycat with Cup2s, and those are Ferrari spec Cup2s. I seriously are all in for Cup2s.

    Best. All. Around. Tires. Ever.

At least for my skill set.

With the Cup2s on my Speciale, going over puddles, I can pretty much predict how many inches the car is going to slide, front or rear, or both,  I drove like I was in rails. And that was the first car ever I got Cup2s. That experience is what gave me my confidence in going fast in the 911R in wet and cold conditions.

I tested the new N-Rated Corsas extensively in many different conditions and was very impressed (I expected not to like them).  I finally wore them out and replaced with Cup2 and they seem like an even trade or a downgrade in most situations and after 1 track day at home on the new Cup2's they look as worn as the Corsas after 5 days at local track (but a fraction of a second faster on a sub-2 minute lap)...

BTW, it is now nearly impossible to buy any of the OEM tires for 991 or 992 GT3 (a real supply chain problem - even when ordering from dealership)...

Yeah, I was surprised how good they were.  From what I hear, the Goodyears are good too (but one guy who is very fast has been tearing them apart on the F1 track in Austin).  It seems like all 3 OEM tires are good this round (but you can't buy any of them Smiley)
