    Official Cayman Photos Sent To Press - 23rd May Release

    Just thought I'd let you know that the first official photos of the Cayman have been sent out by Porsche to press agencies, but they are embargoed until 23rd May. Of course, it is possible that we'll see the pics spring up on the net before then if anyone is daring/stupid enough to leak them.

    Wonder if RC has received the Rennteam copy of the pics yet?

    Thanks for info Atlantis, much appreciated. At least now we know that photos will be released on that date. I wonder when prices will be confirmed.

    If I say yes, you guys bombard us with "please send me a copy, I promise not to show to anyone".
    If I say no, you guys don't believe me.

    Hmmm...tough decision. Let me put it this way: with a little bit of luck, you'll see the pictures here before May 23rd. And no, we're not braking any embargo or whatever.
    I can't promise anything though.

    More likely the first one...or slightly more.
    Don't expect them MUCH earlier, we would have the whole press against us.

    I suggest you only disclose those pictures early to people who are REALLY solid pillars of the Rennteam community. Those with integrity and believability. Those would be members with more than...say 912 posts.

    Besides, it's it annoying sitting on info that everybody wants...but you can't share it?

    Funny...everybody is overtly excited to see what - let's face it - is a hatch on a Boxster.
    I mean, the rest of the car is a regular Boxster, so all we are waiting for is to see how the hatch turned out!?

    I believe we as a target audience are what we in advertising circles call "low-hanging fruits".
    Easy to reach, easy to excite, paying what it costs. Ripe customers.

    You mean the one you clinic'd with a front that looks like a 987S face except for the center air intake like the 997 aerokit's and the rear hatch exactly as we can see through the camo with the subtle flying buttresses , otherwise like a 987 ? ?

    The car overall, seems to have somewhat of a unique shape. Other than the roof, theres something unique about the shape compared to the boxster, or maybe I'm just imagining things...........

    I concur with Dr Phil, let's face it we all know the shape pretty much and the front and the interior, the only mystery are the details. Knowing all that doesn't seem to alleviate the agony of the wait.

    BTW today's autocar, had a virtually undisguised rear shot of a silver cayman in a south african hotel car park.

    There is no REAL mystery about the Cayman S.
    The power figure is well known, the rear looks nice, the front looks like the Boxster front with some minor differences in the front bumper. Nothing more and nothing less. The interior is almost 95% Boxster-like too.

    The REALLY interesting thing will be: how does the Cayman S perform? And this is something I'm really looking forward to, not the pictures or any technical details. There really is nothing "secret" or "spectacular" about the Cayman S but I understand that people want to see the REAL thing as soon as possible.
