    SL600 0-110mph Video

    5 speed auto

    That looks a lot quicker than my 55!
    *laughs* if that 600 had a 7 speed gearbox....!$@#%$%#@# it would be quick!!
    Problem is that apparently the 7G can only handle something like a maximum of 700-750nm of torque which is why they're not in the 55,600 or 65 models.

    correct me if i'm wrong pls :P

    You're absolutely right, but soon enough, you will get a 65 car with the 7 speeder, maybe even later this year? who knows.

    In reality, the V12 600 engine might say 500hp on the tin, but upon dyno'ing its closer to 550-580hp!

    You're absolutely right, but soon enough, you will get a 65 car with the 7 speeder, maybe even later this year? who knows.

    Curious if you guys have heard more feedback re: 65's trac control....have seen couple of car mags (?Evo/Car) report that jamming the 65's accelerator at 40-60MPH (on dry pavement) can break car loose, beyond ability of trac ctrl. Any credence to this observation? (Have found 55's trac ctrl to be excellent in similar circumstances.) If 65 can't manage dry traction, very troubling for a car realistically largely used for mindless straight-line commuter duty on urban freeways while in midst of speakerphone calls....and at least in certain parts of SF/LA one often could theoretically punch car from 50-100MPH in gaps in freeway congestion.....if trac is up-to-job of managing the torque

    Well it all depends on who you believe. Some have said punching a 55 in 3rd gear on dry pavement can break traction. Other have said the same thing about the 65's at 100mph.

    IMO, for mid-range punches to get through traffic, little amounts of throttle should be sufficient given the wide torque spread. According to EVO, trying to leave side roads at full throttle should be avoided as the car can go completely sideways. Its universally accepted that driving a 65 car is as much about exercising self throttle control as it is about enjoying the car's punch.

    Best thing, go out and rag the beast, see if you need to call 911 afterwards, then you'll know.

    speaking of traction control, i have a video of my 55 doing a 0-150kmh and you can see the traction control clearly doing it's thing. but it says i can't upload files larger than 300kb :/ might as well upload a picture of it
