One thing is for sure, the extra 44m in width mentined is sure not visible in the photos in the 997, I'm sure it will be in person though.

Where is the data here concerning the width of the car ( besides that old +44 mm thread from the Seattle pics months ago ) - it looks like the same width body as 997 / 997S C2. The brochure wording is vague re the tire/ wheels being wider / more offset - then why is only the rear track widened per the literature ?

With the engine lid shut line now bisecting the rear light clusters rather than being even with their lower edge as on the 996 , I don't see how one can integrate a 996 C4S - style rear reflector lense tying the light clusters together without the result looking like a dumbell shape :

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

This can't be real guys, my guess is they used a 996 Carrera 4 folder, photoshopped pictures of the 997 et voila....
I really think someone's messing around!

(I'm really going to feel bad if i'm wrong about this)

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

I'm inclined to agree - I had hoped for some of the 9964S design features to be brought over (turbo front bumper and rear reflector), but alas what we've got is probably the result of engineers thinking with their heads rather that their hearts.

That's not to say of course that I don't intend ordering one! All these pics of Atlas Grey recently have got me thinking that Arctic silver is yesterday's news!! Then again, I might wait for the PDK to arrive. And let's face it, I've been getting used to waiting recently - mainly with my ignition key stuck in the lock

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

I have this exact same picture in my 997 folder!
I wish i could scan it..

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

It seems that Porsche is changing the meaning of '4S' from 'Turbo look 911 AWD' to 'More powerful 911 AWD'. Porsche is now very consistent, with Boxster, Cayenne and 911 'S' referring to slightly more powerful versions of the base car but no real design differences. As for the 911 4S I prefer substance over style any time.

    Why not?

Maybe the C4S sits a fraction lower to the pavement than the C4 when both are in standard form.

The C2S sits also lower than the C2 yet is has higher Cd due to the larger tires (the C2 has .28 and the C2S has .29) And here in this brochure they have it the other way around in the C4S vs C4, but the same differnce between the C2 and C2S should translate into the C4 and C4S for the same reasons. And I find it hard to believe Porsche would let a typo like that get into the brochure
    ... smells fishy

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

I can't see any difference between the C2 and the C4 except the logo ...
    Doesn't seem wider ...
    Isn't that a joke ?

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

The gist of the discussion here is that " S " label ( 997 C2S and now C4S ) has returned to it's roots as a label for a higher performance model - not a " wide body " as it had become starting with the 993 series.
So in the future, there will be a " turbo-look " body option with probably the 997 Turbo's suspension / tires / brakes too.
I suspect it will be only avail with the higher output 3.8l C2S and C4S models due to the weight and aero penalties of the option.

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

Why are people doubting this? Where there is smoke there is fire. To many sources and pics to be just some giant April Fools joke.

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

Maybe perfectly true, but just being catious.
Lets say I'm just agnostic so far

I find it strange that people think this is a hoax. Why would anyone go to the trouble of creating a brochure that perfectly fits Porsche's brand and message. None of the pictures have been seen before. I guess the doubters will have to wait until tomorrow for the "official" confirmation.

BTW: The guy that originally posted the brochure on www.bm3w.co.uk is a bit of a Porsche nut and owns a 996 C4S

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

I will call my dealer first thing in the morning.......
Getting exited as I am on the waiting list for the C4S.
Would of hoped for 380 HP...

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

Thanks Atlantis (Jon) for posting here....and for 'fighting my corner' (I owe you a drink now!)

These are all my original scans, I received the brochure from Porsche GB on Saturday and decided post in 3 locations:

    www.bm3w.co.uk - because I used to own a few M3s
    www.pistonheads.com
    www.stuttgart9.co.uk

So apologies for not posting here initially. They are not Photoshopped, although with the 'new' design it would be very easy.

The accompanying letter is dated 9th May, so I was obviously lucky to receive a few days early.

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

Thanks for the first hand clarification/confirmation damian

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

Just to clarify things further, although many of you will receive this information within the next few days.....

Both models will be unveiled at the IAA in Frankfurt (17-25 September) and will be on sale in the UK from Saturday 22nd October. Initially PCGB will be asking for Pounds3,000 deposits.

Prices in the UK are Pounds62,930 and Pounds69,900

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

RC can you chime in on this.

Back few months ago in the "997 Wide Body Spotted!!" Thread you say you are 100% sure that was not a wide body in the picture (which imply 997 wide body is wider than what is show in the photo or has different body kit of some type). But from what I can see I can not see any difference (same front bumper, side, rear bumper and it does not look any wider at least no wider than the photo above Thread which was posted few months back).

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

The same goes for the fuel consumption figures. According to the brochure the more powerful C4S consumes less than the C4

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

As has been previosuly stated (by Porker) , that rear end picture looks almost identical to the UK 'Precision 911' brochure page 24 picture.

The lighting is slightly different. The thing which makes me think it is not the same pic, is the gap between the headrest and the sunvisor (right hand side).

If this is a fake, someones gone to a lot of effort!

If it's real, my order for a 997 2S still stands

One thing it doesn't show is 0-100mph figures. Now they just have to have dropped!!

Anyone else got that brochure near to compare them?

    ...Add

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

Thanks for the scans Atlantis! The 4(S) looks good to me. It makes sense from a production-cost perspective to keep it as similar to the 2(S) as possible

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

    Carlos,
I think you have misunderstood the "imperial" way of quoting fuel consumption.

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

I dont know if anyone has said this on the thread yet, but wasn't the C4S rumored to come standard with the 380hp power kit. Not gonna happen I guess?

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

    but .........
    RC??????????
    where are you?
    please tell us it's a fake .....
not for me (it's not my kind of car),but for my friend that made a contract for the 4s ,widebody ,380hp ...new front ....
    internet rumors ......

Just got an email from RC,
He just coulnd't handle Nberry's posts anymore and hanged himself.
Seriously, he's just abroad for a little while and will be back shortly.
I told him he has no idea the amount of homework that waits for him when he gets back!
    PS: Just kidding Nick!

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

    Thanx Fanch.
Can any of you moderators confirm if this is real or not?
According to the posts here, the official pictures were supposed to be released today, but I guess they would have been posted here then, and I can't find them anywhere else either.

Besides, that the 997 C4/C4S comes with the 4wd system from the 996 sounds like a ripoff/unlikely to me.

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

lETS JUST NOT JUMP into colclusions yet and wait just a little.
Maybe the guy who scaned the brochure ,received a preliminary brochure,as it is used to be distributed and not the full brochure that is yet to be released

    Re: C4 & C4S Brochure Scans

Got a letter and brochure in the post this morning (i'm in the UK).

The thing that gets me is there is a Pounds6000 difference between C2S and C4S!

Pounds6000 for an old viscous coupling from the 996??
Did I mention ripoff in my previous post?
