    My 997c2 dyno

    The following are results of my dyno. I'm not sure if I should be happy with the results or not but please take a look and give me your opinions.

    997c2 base with fabspeed cold air/bmc filter/fabspeed headers and muffler bypass w/approx. 6000 miles. Ambient temp. 70 F and approx 5-10 ft above sea level. (don't know if that makes any difference)

    I had 4 runs with low hp of 302.6 and high of 309.9 / low tq of 264.9 and high of 269.8. Anyway, you see it on the graph. Dynapack.

    ......... isn't it supposed to be 325 bhp for a standard Carrera? then why is it even lower with all the extra's you've put on?

    rear wheel 305HP should be around 355HP flywheel, no?

    What was the pre dyno numbers?

    If those numbers are at the wheel for a non-S, those are impressive numbers. The interesting question is whether they differ for a stock car.

    Why does the top of the graph show "Flywheel power/torque: Correction Method SAE". To me, it's misleading if that graph represented power/torque at the wheels.

    Sorry if the graph is misleading in any way or that I didn't add enough information.

    The dyno was done after all modifications on a base non-S 997c2. I didn't get a chance to dyno the car before the my modifications went in so I can't give you a improvement comparison. In anycase, the dyno numbers are at the WHEEL and not the flywheel.

    Cool. Maybe I might take my 997S in for comparison. How long did it take and how much did it cost, if I may ask?

    Then you should be happy with the results Though dyno results can vary from dyno to dyno, and even from day to day (thats why a pre-dyno refference is so helpful) the 305HP at the wheel you got would correspond with around 350-360HP at the flywheel

    The dyno took less than an hour and the cost was under $100 for 3 runs.

    The higest numbers were attained on the first run and the lowest number on the last. Overall the numbers are pretty consistent on each run. The sweet spot is definitely between 3k and 6k.

    In addition, I have a comparison with a stock 360 modena that was dynoed there which I'll post up later. It's interesting.

    okey gives us more info on that one. You should dyno the car also BEFORE to get the picture of the quality of the mods you made.

    OK, seen that you have the strange "red pipe by Fabspeed".

    Can you please tell me if that part really make the difference from the standard one in terms of sound?

    Nice, entertaining and maybe nice for comparison (before/after) but unless you take out the engine and do a "proper" testing, this all is worth...nothing (and you're 100 bucks poorer ).

    well, yeah...i was just entertained for 1 hour and I got a neat little graph at the end. i guess i'll just have to charge a little more on my next contract to cover that.

    Personally, I don't think it made much of a difference...same for the sound. I thought it sounded stock. However, it looks kinda cool...(I'm just a sucker for these kinda things )

    Just curious, but what's with the large torque and smaller HP drop at ~5900RPM?
    Two spikes for the price of one?

    Yeah, that's interesting, isn't it? Maybe a little NOS boost at the end?

    That is pretty darned impressive. I just plugged those dyno curves in my acceleration testing program (pretty good one). The 360 came out to about about right:

    rolling start 5-60 4.1, 5-100 4.9, 1/4 mile 12.4 at 115.6

    The modded 997 done the same way:

    rolling start 5-60 4.4, 5-100 10.3, 1/4 mile 12.8 at 109.3

    That's very quick, especially for a non S model.

    What size are the wheels of your car?
    This is important when measuring HP on the wheel

    Tagheuer, How much did the package cost you and did you get it done in Penns. where Fabsped is located? Is what you had done street legal in your state?
