    997S Cab impressions

After a 2 week delay at port, finally picked up my midnight blue 997S cab Thursday night. Friday had clear bra installed and spent yesterday and this morning putting it through its paces. Here are my thoughts. First it is a very different car then my 996 cab. This car is a wolf in sheep's clothing. In normal mode it is comfortable, smooth and civilzed. With a mere push of a button it transforms itself into a tight, taut, racer. Unless you experience it, it's hard to understand. I congratulate Porsche of re-inventing the 911. In every way it is a better car both in performance and in comfort. I was a little worried about ordering the adaptive sports seats without having sat in them first, but I believe that they are the best sports car seats I've even sat my behind in. They look serious and do their job well. The steering may be the biggest change and, having read what has been posted here, I believe that once you get used to the difference, you wonder why they took so long to make the change. The engine noise is music to one's ears and is enhanced with the top down. The materials and workmanship are incredible. I also believe that the body is tighter on this 2005 cab versus my 2002 cab. I am very pleased Later today, I will try and post some pictures...maybe side by side with my 996.

    Re: 997S Cab impressions

I also am impressed with the adaptive sport seats and am very happy that I got them. Congratulations on your new car.

    Re: 997S Cab impressions

    helo1,

tnx for your post. i just ordered a 997s cab (currently have a 99 996 cab) and was in a quandry about the adaptive sport seating and the 19 inch wheels. i don't track the car and part of the usage unfortunately is through jersey city pothole ridden streets. pothole just blew a big baseball size bubble on a brand new p-zero tire(less than 100 miles)--groan. given that is part of my usage, what do you think of the 19's?

    Re: 997S Cab impressions

if anyone doesnt want his 19 wheels!!! I ll take them 11:!

    Re: 997S Cab impressions

I love the 19" wheels and the carrera design is easy to clean. They also show off the red brake caliphers very well. You are right though, there is a SMALL amount of sidewall so pay attention to those potholes!

    Re: 997S Cab impressions

Congrat helo1. I know what mean with Adaptive seats. Its a must have. The sound is something else though.

    Re: 997S Cab impressions

adaptives must be gorgeous i just think power seats at least along with lumbar support should be standard on a 997 !

I mean its not that high tech

Get the Adaptive sport seats and keep the 19's. Also if you get Full Leather there is a $500 discount for the Adaptive sport seats.

Helo - Please put in some pics of your car.
