997S Cab impressions
After a 2 week delay at port, finally picked up my midnight blue 997S cab Thursday night. Friday had clear bra installed and spent yesterday and this morning putting it through its paces. Here are my thoughts. First it is a very different car then my 996 cab. This car is a wolf in sheep's clothing. In normal mode it is comfortable, smooth and civilzed. With a mere push of a button it transforms itself into a tight, taut, racer. Unless you experience it, it's hard to understand. I congratulate Porsche of re-inventing the 911. In every way it is a better car both in performance and in comfort. I was a little worried about ordering the adaptive sports seats without having sat in them first, but I believe that they are the best sports car seats I've even sat my behind in. They look serious and do their job well. The steering may be the biggest change and, having read what has been posted here, I believe that once you get used to the difference, you wonder why they took so long to make the change. The engine noise is music to one's ears and is enhanced with the top down. The materials and workmanship are incredible. I also believe that the body is tighter on this 2005 cab versus my 2002 cab. I am very pleased
