They should do more marketing for the aerokit then SmileySmiley

The wing of the current aerokit might look too racy on a normal Carrera for daily use. But a version of the ducktail (done differently so as not to spoil the SC exclusivity) would have been a very good idea.

The 991 Sport Design included a ducktail.

I am just a hopeless sucker for the aerokit…having owned a 997.1 Carrera Aerokit previously…Smiley

Why would a GT3 owner embarrass his car like that? There wasn't any doubt he could beat the STO given the differences in hp and weight.

Also, the 992 GT3 looks stubby and fat. Those that paid over $100,000 above MSRP need to have their head examined. mail

As far as I know, the car doesn't have emotions and doesn't care that it loses. Smiley

Grant, I respectfully disagree. A drag race between two cars one with significantly more hp and weighs about the same is foolish. Taking the same two cars to a track become more fair given the chassis setup, road configuration  and driver ability.

This much I know. Porsche would not try to sell the GT3 using the video posted.Smiley

Has anyone taken delivery tried the race setup in the 992 GT3?

The manual lists camber alignment changes and wing adjustments.  Any other prep for the track days?

I have a Manthey alignment on my car (-2.5 degrees camber at all corners) and full rear wing (and 3/4 aero in front).  The other thing that is needed is brake pads (stock pads are worse than in 991). I use Race Technologies RE10 sold by Brembo and they work very well (3rd GT car in which I have used these).  Better brake fluid may be useful as well (I use Endless RF-650), but stock fluid not as pad as the pads...

What a nice day for him - color choice is a bit conservative, though ?

    Re: 992 GT3

I'd say a bit boring combo in my opinion yes, still great looking though.

    Re: 992 GT3

IMO the Touring is better suited with a choice of more normal colours. Hence the launch colour in Agate Grey.

If someone doesn't mind a Python green , a racing yellow or a lava orange this person might as well get the real thing i.e. the version with the wing.

The be-winged GT3 needs more racy colours to highlight the aggressive character.

Mine is PTS Iris blue with Weissgold wheels.  Should arrive in the next week or so.

    Re: 992 GT3

    Gents.

Quick update on tyres. Im now on my third set after 10 track days and 8000km.

Full sets of the factory tyres for 992 GT3 are not currently available in my country (although I should recieve a set by end of May which I will keep as spare).

Subsequently I purchased and had fitted a set of N2 GT2/3RS tyres. These fit perfectly with no rubbing at -2.6 degrees F+R. The rolling circumference is changed by 3mm so barely noticeable and teh new wider rims on the 992 GT3 carry the extra 10mm tyre width without issue.

They look a little more pumped up and aggressive on the car. They feel great in the short distance on the road I have driven since fitting them. No percieveable difference in braking or tramlining on the road at least.

Here is the interesting thing. As soon as I picked up the car my tyre guy told me they were stickier after his test drive. The treadwear rating is 180 compared to the factory tyres which are 240. He contacted Michelin last week to ask why their new connect tyres are all 240 TW and was told it was due to "compliance in some markets"

Has me wondering if tyres are being subject to teh same changes as pads moving forward and to meet emissions regs and noise regs in some markets they are having to use different formulations that may wear longer but be less grippy?

Ill post more pictures once the car has been cleaned after last weekend track day so you can see how these look mounted. Im very happy with them as an alternative and I have been told by other local owners who use theirsRS Tyres.jpg at the track that the tyre is quicker and easier to set to temperature whilst not wearing noticeably faster...

    Very nice!  Thanks for report!

I had a difficult time, but my dealer was able to secure me a set of 992-spec Cup2’s (had to order 2 sets of 2 with my VIN and mileage to ensure I wasn’t hoarding them).

Interested to see how they compare to my original Pirelli Corsas…

They look good on the car. Will be interesting to see how you like them on track.

So all new Michelin, Goodyear and Pirellis with 992 GT3 tire sizes have a 240 tread wear ?

The official time on the Ring was done with R tires. Wonder how much difference ....

    Grant,

Auto-white balance can play tricks when trying to compare subtle color differences.

I compared a body-shop spray card of Weißgold to the stock magnesium wheels on a GT2RS and confirmed they are the same color.

Judging from the Suncoast colour chart, White Gold is the gold hue to go for. Very classy and subtle compared to Aurum Gold.

A good match for the special blue, as above kiss
