You have more dealers than you could shake a stick at in SoCal so I can't for the life of me imagine why you couldn't be bothered to go and see these colors for real at one or more of the dealers.
You might find that in reality GT Silver and Cocoa are the perfect combination. Imagine kicking yourself later when you saw that combo and LOVED it, when you were driving around in a Red 997...which frankly would look HORRIBLE with cocoa...
Some quite unwarranted assumptions there.
I've been to every local dealer within 50 miles, many of them more than a few times. These dealers include some reputed to be among the largest in the U.S. outside Florida. I also regularly check the new and used car inventories of these dealers (from their Websites) to see what colors are in or soon arriving.
I've seen the GT Silver/Cocoa combination on a couple of Boxters, and have not liked it. Dealers claim that the colors/materials are the same on both platforms if the name's the same.
If you think Red looks bad with Cocoa, you have a color taste greatly at variance with Porsche's. That's a combo frequently used in their brochures and test cars, from the pix I've seen. In any event, it's not probable I'll get red regardless of its interior.
