    V-MAX CLUB??

    I have just been reading the UK magazine EVO, it had a section on high speed driving, and the mention a club called V-MAX, the club meets through the year on a disussed airfield where they drive there cars around the circuit then record there top speeds down the 2 mile long straight!
    would love to max my Carrera S down that 2 mile straight! maybe it would stop me driving fast on the road! If anyone in the UK has any info on this club, pleae let me know.

    Grant,

    They had a feature on it in a recent Fifth Gear show. You can download it from Bit Torrent or eMule, its the one that aired April 11, 2005.

    Now would you buy a car from these blokes!!! It really made me laugh looking how scarey that factory is. Especially the piece of wood marked 'Wayne' to hold the carpet in place whilst it glues.

    The garage he is referring to is the TVR factory in Blackpool, UK, the cars are mostly hand built and the factory looks really messy!!!

    The club Vmax is actually just an offshoot of Pistonheads.com Have a look on the website and you will see they hold it annually and anyone can enter. There is a young lad on there whose dad has 2 RUF Porsches which always win and the event is held at Bruntingthorpe.

    Personally I think it would be boring to go down an airfield at speed and prefer the fun of doing it on the road. Best so far is 189mph
