Maybe it's required by the intended V12 customer they are targeting : to carry two staff- sized golf bags and a weekends worth of luggage ( mostly hers ) for the three hour trip to Pebble Beach , etc. Isn't that the role of a GT ? Otherwise , for an hour or two of canyon blasting, an F430 is a better tool .

Bet that's a major exterior disguise...keep hearing that 600 will be a V12, 2-seat performance car (mini-Enzo-like)....makes sense since 612 is very popular (and sold-out) in Greenwich/Atherton for GT use in high-end commuter work, ferrying 2 couples to dinner, couple and luggage for wkend in Napa, using backseat to give rugrats a F ride, etc. etc.
