    RC:

How do you like the TRX acceleration from a stop or are you still running it in?

My Trackhawk does now (cold weather) 0-100 kph in 3.6 seconds from a stop. Instantly. Like an EV. No launch control. This thing is f.cking unblievable. This is basically 3.3 seconds from 0-60 mph.

    Haha,

I have just one arm at moment and can't click the seatbelt, but we snuck out to a jump off  -- the power and  T vs the `raptor is Just the Titz [Just mild touches to 4,000 rpm today portends a rocketship hammer down], and the suspension seems more advanced.  DaDa finds the supercharger and the exhaust sounds pretty fun --- C&D says 3.7 sec to 60 mph...  vs 4.5 sec for the raptor I think.

ALL IN ALL --- A HIGHLY AMUSING RIG.Smiley

The Poodles love almost an extra foot of space vs raptor [also seat removed] with the rear seat removed.Smiley

Just nuts, the Q8 appears as a fairly large car in Europe already. How much bigger is that RAM… and how small would an Elise look next to it?

Looks like a fun ride, perfect for your usage and area!

    Haha

The TRX is big n wide....  slightly wider than the very wide raptor!!  Not appropriate for Europe perhaps.

As mentioned the Labs have tons more room in back vs the raptor, so they're happy.....

New rigs are fun but every time the agony and frustration of dealing the slovenly mounting brackets for valentines- just garbage. I think I’ll research and switch detector now, rather than just mounting bracketsmail

I recall my redline in New Zealand which worked well and had a great lever action suction mount, and bought a Max360 to try until redlines come back in stock.

Maybe you should call Mike and talk with him directly, maybe you both could work out the perfect mounting bracket for his product? Smiley

I too have issues with the Valentine One brackets and usually resort to clipping the device to the visor.  Not ideal but it isn’t falling down into the footwell.  Mike is a good guy and I would image he will be responsive.

Yeah, nothing like your $499 detector slamming down onto the dash over and over, or in the footwell -- just when you hit the speed trapSmiley And coming out to your heated garage and it's lying on the floor of your 812 SuperFast, AND in your GTC4 Lusso!SmileySmileySmiley

    -----------------------------

Speaking as Mike's new VP marketing:

Mike's cost on this would likely be $3.75 across his volume.  His options: he could eat it and hold his $499 retail PLUS SHIPPING giving up a tiny bit of his juicy margin and take a little longer to get his wife her next Rolls.  The marketing recommendation is just hide it by increasing PLUS SHIPPING.

However, with ESCORT MAX 360c. Wi-Fi enabled, Full 360° awareness at $649.95 [my purchase yesterday after many valentines], and currently unavailable but best Escort Redline at $799, Mike could jump his price to $599. claiming inflation truthfully, and quit ignoring unhappy customers, and buy her her next Rolls next quarter!!

We're not price sensitive customers, we're performance sensitive and that includes the mounting options.  I'm recalling now the incredible long range and accurate warnings of my Escort Redline in New Zealand, where your car can be confiscated on the spot for >40 kmh over.  I'll buy one when they ship and post a comparison with the MAX 360c, to see what the $100 more buys.

Mike's clearly a wonderful guy to his wife and he says she loves her current Rolls, but we've brought this problem up before to no avail.  Ball's in his court as you say.

Re: SUN'S LAST RUN TO WILSON, WY - 991 C2S CAB LIFE, END OF AN ERA (Part II)

    Follow completely.

Re: SUN'S LAST RUN TO WILSON, WY - 991 C2S CAB LIFE, END OF AN ERA (Part II)

My did not get any Rolls, but she bought me my latest Valentine. Would not start any car without one the way I drive. I do notice that under strong acceleration in the Tesla the detector flaps violently when using the suction cups. The turbo does not have that type of power. I have mounted it closer to the mirror so the mirror prevents it from flapping. Yes, a new mount might help a lot.
Still, without the Mike and all the various products he has sold since I start driving Porsches 42 years ago I would not have a license. Cheers!

Re: SUN'S LAST RUN TO WILSON, WY - 991 C2S CAB LIFE, END OF AN ERA (Part II)

Mike's given us all a great product, I have 5 or 6 of them, it's just he's so close to perfection, why not deliver that?  -- a better mount selection that doesn't fall off and I'd never be trying these Escorts!.

    Short TRX report:

    1. In 3-6 inches of snow, the Wrangler off road tyre is just as useless in snow as the KO2s delivered on the Raptor, I'm sliding right off the corners, but easily solved with Hakka studs next winter.
    2. Range of a full tank is 320 miles, at 9.7 to 10 miles per gallon, not concerned about mileage, just wish the tank was 40 gallons.
    3. Only the rear diff locks, which is strange.  I've tried snow mode in auto 4wd, and full time 4wd modes, with and without the diff locked -- no apparent difference, but we'll see with the Hakkas.
    4. Interior quality is stunning -- easily Porsche level finish!  Carbon, fine leather and alcantara.  This is my GT3smiley!!!!
    5. Door and tailgate fit and finish superb.  The tailgate is feather light to close whereas the Raptor tailgate almost too heavy for me in my dotage. The bed step kicks out, a much better design than the intricate hassle of the Raptor tailgate step.
    6. I'm installing a Deck drawer system in a week or 2, and switching to a Smart Cap all stainless steel cap for the bed whenever they deliver, much nicer than the ARE cap on the Raptor.
    7. A massive step up from the Raptor, and now I've figured out how to latch the seat belt with my left arm, I'm almost independent and back in the mountains, it's just a great rig!!!!
