fuel consumption was approx 60l on my first 200km's (30l per 100km)
(and no revving higher than 6000 due to break in, 50% inner city, 20% B roads, 30% autobahn)

    same consumption as mine, 30l/100km

.......normaly, the car doesn't need a 'breake in' , all engines get their breake in at the faktory

That is worst than a Cayenne TT! Is that possible?

perhaps. my CS guzzled gas like nothing i've ever owned before - and that's driving civilized! take it out to the mountains and you can run through the better part of the 25 gal tank in less than 100 miles! our cayenne tt gets about 11 which is slightly better than the F150 which is slightly better than the CGT.

doesn't need hundreds of km or miles ....
if you have ever seen, how Ferrari takes their NEW cars on the Fiorano track, ....

    30L/100 kmh!!!
    That is HUGE!!!
It's not even a matter of money, if you own such a car, you can afford the refills, it's a matter of stopping so often at petrol stations!
How big is the tank? 100 litres?

    95l

but don't take the 30l for granted. it's just a guess. i have to fill the car up again in order to see how much fuel really was consumed.

Don't you trust the Italian fuel gauge too much! My guess is when you think the tank is nearly empty and going to refill it you will notice that there are about 30 litres left. So something like 17 to 18 1/100km should be appropriate for the described driving style.

    Re: My F430 -- pictures

Wow that is simply awesome. Congrats, have fun, keep us posted on how this thing preforms.

Re: My F430 -- first impressions

My 360 gets worse gas mileage than my Cayenne TT, it's all about how you drive it.

...because dario benuzzi or journalists do not care about service bills or if the car brakes down in some months

IMHO it can't be wrong to let it go not too hard at the start of a car's life so that all parts get to learn each other

my F430 manual is pretty clear regarding this: do not revv higher than 5000 during first 1000 km's.

i went up to 6500-7000 (of course engine was warm), so the car "learns" that it should revv -- but i'm not ready for the 8500 yet

Re: My F430 -- first impressions

CONGRATS, Sönke...sorry for the late congratulation, I just overlooked your post.

The car is beautiful, very very nice. I also liked your short review.

    Whenever you're in Munich...

fwiw, a friend of mine was told by his dealer the best way to break it in was to take it to the track!

Re: My F430 -- first impressions

    Wow! Nice car. Congrats
Way to go with the race buckets too. I read the race buckets save 44lbs! Better support for Ferrari type driving, a lot less weight and much better looks to boot !
How much is the weight difference between steel and CCM again?
With the race buckets and CCM weight savings could be close to 100lbs.

Given how actual F weights (and hp figs) seem to vary btwn mfr claims and cars independently weighed and dyno'd, would be skeptical re: actual wt savings vs journalist claims (which typically quote factory claims)....it's all sort of like how pro football teams mysteriously list guys at different hts and wts than reality....

i think those figures are fairly aggressive. the CS already has the buckets and the total weight savings on that car is 110 kg over the 360 and THAT is with the lexan plastic side windows. as for the brakes, the TOTAL unsprung weight saved on a CS over a 360 is 12 lbs which includes ceramic brakes, titanium springs, and titanium lug nuts. so, the brakes alone don't save remotely as much as ceramics do on a pcar whose steel brakes are stupid heavy relative to ferrari's.

Re: My F430 -- first impressions

    Yes Sönke,

    congratulations to your new car.

So what's up with your Porsche, didn't sell it yet?

Re: My F430 -- first impressions

    congrats!!!

such a fantastic ride--i really dig your specs (and Pics!)...

i'm ITCHING for my spyder in black next year--

Re: My F430 -- first impressions

Incredible car, congrats! I like silver on the 430, judging from the pictures, but haven't seen that color in the flesh yet.

Re: My F430 -- first impressions

Congratulations! A truly magnificent car. And a great color.

I also had Grigio Titanio on my 360 Modena which I sold quite some time ago

Probably, I shall think of an Italian successor for it

    Re: My F430 -- pictures

Yes! Please make some cool videos. We would like to hear the sound.
Hope I would have such a beautiful car some day.

    Congratulations!!!

    Re: My F430 -- pictures

a very nice car, one of my favourites right now. If you have time, please come to holland where i live, I really would like to know how it feels to drive a f430. It must be heaven!!!!!!
