Did he happen to say what the problem was? The rumour was emissions certification but there was no official word that I'm aware of. My production completion date was originally April 21 but it got pushed back to May 19 a couple of weeks ago. I guess I'll call my sales guy and see if it has changed again.

Although I am new at all of the ordering details, I am getting confused. My dealer in Canada has inputted my GT3 order into the computer system and my order status code is MFGCON with an order reference number and allocation period of 05/01/2003 - 05/31/2003 (this is what was printed from the computer screen of the dealer). Even though we are now in May, I find it incredible that an estimated production date has yet to be specified by PAG. Am I having the same problem as you? I understand that a VIN is not assigned until the vehicle has been built.
I have also learned to my chagrin that it is now too late for me to order the ceramic brakes. Does this sound right?

I am in Canada too.
My build date completion was April 25.
There was a delay for some reason, I think emissions.
Though the car should have no problem in passing since it was developed with both EU4 and LEV emmission levels, unlike the previous model. Unfortunately due to Europe's noise restrictions the exhaust silencers were lengthened to quiet down the sound. If you notice in the videos on the UK website MOST of the sound the car emmitts is actually induction sound and not exhaust sound.
Anyways, I've asked my dealer to change my colour and he couldn't. The car is complete, and was completed on April 25. The fact that you have no VIN number means that the car has not been released for some reason ( emissions issue).
The way the production line works is that they build 10 GT3's per day on the C2 line.

I finally heard back from my sales guy. He says my car is still showing in the Paint Shop status which is the last step in Production. It's been there for a month, so he figures it is built and for some reason PAG has not or can not assign a VIN yet. He says it is showing a production completion date of May 17 but that's a Saturday, so I suspect he means May 19. In any event, I guess it will be next week before I know any more. He could not find out anything about why it is being held.
Supposedly Champion had a new GT3 for display at a FL region PCA event last weekend. I don't know how they got it. Maybe it's the car that was at the NY Auto Show. Did anyone attend that event?

was an '03 Carrera Coupe' with the new factory Aero-Kit.It is
identical; in appearence , to the upcoming GT-3 body. I don't know what is happening with the GT-3, but something seems to be holding it up. The demand certainly is through the roof ;
I can tell you that. I can't wait to bring that "atmo" motor to 8,200 RPM.

A friend of mine was in New York last week and he saw a yellow GT3 with German plates in a parking garage. I would think that this was the GT3 from the auto show and therefore not the same car at the event in Florida.

I got an e-mail from Steve in FL who said he was going to another PCA event tomorrow at which Champion was supposed to have a real GT3. It's supposed have been delivered to the dealer yesterday. If any of you folks in the Lauderdale/West Palm area are in the vicinity of Champion, please stop by and check it out. Then let the rest of us know what the story is.

My car finally got to CMPPRD status today and assigned a VIN number. No seems to know why there was a one month delay from my original production complete date of March 21. In any event, the dealer says it should be here in three weeks. It comes into Baltimore port and only takes a day or two to get to DC. Now if I can just figure out how to track the boat once it gets on one.
BTW, I also heard from Steve in FL and Champion did not have a GT3 to show at the event last weekend. They said they had one coming over and it was on the boat now. They expect it in a couple of weeks.
