    Re: [2022] Ferrari Purosangue (SUV)

Looks like I am late to the party again - been ice driving with AMG this week in Sweden. I would echo the comments of front looks versus rear. I wonder how much passenger capacity it will have and whether the day to day tech will actually work reliably for once along with no rattles. I hope there will be a V12 offered as that will be a real differentiator in an increasingly crowded segment where the Urus is the benchmark car in my opinion. This car will be priced significantly higher though.

A V12 is very likely as far as I heard...from a Lambo rep. Smiley Smiley I guess Ferrari wants to have a SUV nobody else hast. A V12, no matter how much it costs, would be very special and as a hybrid, it would be a very interesting choice. I wouldn't be surprised to see 1000 hp in this thing.

Rolls-Royce’s hideous SUV has a V-12 whilst the Bentley Bentayga is available with a W-12. Different performance criteria but there will be some overlap amongst potential clients, but then again, there might be fewer customers in Russia.

    Re: [2022] Ferrari Purosangue (SUV)

Completely different V12s in the RR and Bentley. I am talking about a high revving NA V12, but I get your point.

    Re: [2022] Ferrari Purosangue (SUV)

I heard it's coming first with a V12 for selected customers then turbo - Don't ask for the LP......I could not believe it.....

Heard the same.  Even the price range is completely different to those.  Almost double the price.

Some new spy pics.  Better sense of the proportions of the SUV:

    Re: [2022] Ferrari Purosangue (SUV)

The rear proportions look a lot better in these latest pics. Could there be hope?

Well, it looks like ferrari has fallen for the same pitfall as all the sportscar manufacturers do when they decide to built an SUV: in order to retain the brand design language, they simply take a picture of their iconic model and then stretch it vertically... it always results in awkward proportions with lots of "empty space", which is then filled by extra horizontal lines. It remains to be seen whether ferrari does it better  icon_popcorn.gif

    Re: [2022] Ferrari Purosangue (SUV)

Looks like an evolution of the Lusso rather than a truck or suv.  Ideally it would be the latter so the Labs have more room.  They fit in the Lusso, but adding Madame to the mix is not happening-just not enough room.

    Re: [2022] Ferrari Purosangue (SUV)

We had an Urus again yesterday for a whole day, it even had the optional Akrapovic exhaust system.

What can I say? I love this car. My son loves this car. My daughter loves this car. It is an amazing SUV, so much fun to drive, very agile, feels sportier than my former E63 and it is a SUV. Comfort is amazing as well, unfortunately we discovered the massage seat function too late but we loved it. indecision

If I had to choose one car as a family car, this would be it. The Urus is perfect. Good looking, superb handling, amazing brakes.

Only downside: Fuel consumption. I did two runs to Munich and back home yesterday and had only 80 km range left. For comparison: My Performante had 270 km left under the same driving conditions. Average fuel consumption was 28.7 l / 100 km in the Urus and I wasn't driving faster than 240 kph (winter tires). Drove up to 280 kph in the Performante.

Overall, I get the success of the Urus. This thing is just pure fun. The sound with the Akrapovic exhaust was also excellent in Corsa mode, even at idle, only thing I didn't like was that stupid "spitting" noise when you go off the throttle.

I wish I had one but you can't have it all (money)... yes

Probably not the most practical and versatile but it's the best looking SUV in the market by far imo and and engine to match.

Looks better than I expected. But seems obscenely expensive….

What is the point of this over a sedan when it has nearly zero off-road capability? Even its suspension is fixed spring with active dampers versus adjustable ride height air springs found with many of its competitors.

I think the point of this car is for those that want the popular SUV format with Ferrari DNA, and the style, engine, sound and handling that comes with it and are willing to accept compromises for it... and the pricetag it will likely carry.

But a sedan would improve on the styling, handling, and performance of a high riding crossover type of vehicle as it typically weighs less, has a lower center of gravity, and better aerodynamics.

I agree on comparison to the old z3 coupe. Hard to judge height…too tall might be odd but overall I like it

The official height is given as 1589 mm or the same as a petit woman.
