    997 Sports Exhaust, good news!!! It works!!!

    My Sports Exhaust is working without interruption!!!

    Don't ask me why. I got my car on Friday because the engine cutouts. But they fixed not only this, they opened the Sports Exhaust for every speed. I tried to clarify what they did but I couldn't reach any technician on Friday and today.

    I was a little bit frustrated having engine problems on a Porsche at the 2nd day and having this Sports Exhaust open up and closing the flaps and the sound all the time. But now I'm really excited! What a car and what a feeling driving open on a sunny day like today with this incredible deep roaring. I can't get enough of the sound of my PSE.

    I have it on all the time except in our village where they know me.

    I will keep you up-to-date on details hopefully on Monday.

    First of all, thank God they found a solution. Second, please record the sound with PSE on and with PSE off when you get a chance. Third, I'm sure all of us would like to know what the techs did to make it work, so make sure you find out the details. Enjoy your new car and congratulations!

    I'm a little bit ashamed. I told you I will record the sound. And I even had my video camera with me today. But I was so excited (and a little bit in a hurry) I didn't find the time to stop and record the sound.

    But I promise further info will come.

    Please ask your technicians what they did on the car (in theory) so that I can let my dealership know when I will receive mine!
    this is very good news.
    I hope it doesn't alter any other DME function mostly related to the sport chrono package.
    So in the end, what have you got?
    PSE on when sport chrono on and PSE off when sport chrono off?
    That's good enough for me.

    You are my hero Seven Please find out how they did it!... my car is due in 2 weeks and I would like to drive it of the lot with the cut-off already disabled

    Next step would be to have an independant switch from sport chrono but don't know is thats posible, though non-SportChrono cars have it that way so maybe its just as simple as wiring it up as if didn't have SportChrono

    Wow , the solution has been found sooner than I thought. Good for all of you guys that have ordered the PSE .

    What about this other thread that says is messes up the sports chrono functions?
    Seven.... How is it on your car. I guess you must of driven it quite a bit on this beautifull week end. So..? Is everything working ?

    I was driving this afternoon and took the chance to make a short video. It's such a nice afternoon so I will edit the video this evening and try to put it online. I have one scene in a tunnel with and without PSE and then one scene standing PSE on/off. I don't have an external microphone so please don't expect too much. But I think it gives a very good impression of the difference.

    By the way I have only one button to turn on/off the Sports Chrono AND the Sports Exhaust. They are still working on that. But so far it's already a very good solution for me.

    ohhh that's really good news!! !!!!

    We all look forward for that PSE sound check!!!

    BTW:(I know this is a question with no relation to the PSE)...How can I disconnect the rear "interior" light of the engine???? , after driving the car and parking it in our garage, I normally leave the engine open, to cool down a bit...but is there anything I can do, to disconnect that light engine???

    That nice throaty sound, sweet!
    Although to be honest, don't see a HUGE difference with the 996 PSE for 3,6L engines. But then again, difficult to imprive on perfection!

    I'd like to add that you can turn on the sport chrono button before you actually turn on the ignition, so that you can have the PSE sound from the very beginning.

    It would also be nice if we can preserve the setting.

    Thanks Beltar - great video. The PSE sounds great.

    One question, all the runs back and forth - were they all PSE or were any of them with PSE turned off for comparison? To me, they all sounded like PSE was on every time.
