    F430 option list

Hello. someone of you have the brochure(PDF or other format) or the complete options list???thanks

    Re: F430 option list

hey, nobody has what I asked before????i can't believe it!!!

    Re: F430 option list

If you look in the archive, you will find options for the 430 but I do not believe the list is official. However, it is at least 95% accurate. For an official list, try emailing Ferrari.

    Re: F430 option list

It is avaliable on the Ferrari UK website and downloadable asa a pdf file. Here is the link: http://www.ferrari.co.uk/pdf/Ferrari%20Price%20List%202005.pdf

Using today's conversion rates, that pegs the MSRP in the US at $190K. Does that sound about right?

    Re: F430 option list

    Very nice specs, congrats!
For the Navigation, may I suggest you do not take it and buy the Becker Traffic Pro instead.
It is exactly the same unit but having Becker instead of Ferrari written on the device will half the cost.

Did you have your's flown in? I would be driving mine today if I opted to pay the extra $10,000 for air freight.

    Re: F430 option list

No. It arrived at FoSF by truck more than 2 weeks ago. Some necessary software upgrades/changes delayed delivery until Wednesday this past week. Would have been here more than a month ago if I flew it in.

    Re: F430 option list

    nicely done there, scuderia enjoy!

So just about $170 for the 6-spd car. Thanks for the numbers, enjoy the hell out of the 430.

What is the stopping distance with Carbon vs. Steel calipers from 100 MPH?

Given equal tires, probably no difference on the first stop. By the tenth stop, the carbon brakes will be likely more fade-free than the steel brakes, resulting in shorter stops.

I am not an expert, but the 360 seems to have poor brakes, what makes think they are poor is when you stand on them, they take way longer to stop you than I want. What would guess on stopping distances vs. steel vs. carbon?

Whatever 360 you drove to lead you to that conclusion must have had a problem...worn pads, bad rotors, maybe both. The 360 has terrific brakes. For track work, a fluid upgrade is required, as with most cars, and there are better semi-competition pads available than stock, but I ran the car with stock pads and Ate fluid in my first track event with no complaints, in fact I was quite impressed. There is no problem with Ferrari iron brakes, they are sourced from Brembo.

F360 has the same excellent Brembos as Porsche.

The stopping distances do not change whether you have larger brakes or carbon vs. steel. In all modern sports cars, the braking system is strong enough to trigger ABS (or lock the tires if no ABS).

Stopping distances are a function of the weight (and weight distribution) of the car and its tires. Having better (bigger) brakes is only helpful in a track situation where greater heat dissipation is required for repeated hard brake applications. Carbon does not dissipate more heat than steel (sometimes less), but it can offer a rotating mass advantage.

    Re: F430 option list

    What is the difference between
"Color on request for standard stitching"
    &
    "Special stitching colour on request"

Also there is an option "Hi- Fi sound system w/ subwoofer" -Is this like a Challenge Stradale where you only get a radio is you order this option ? Or does it mean an upgraded system ? I'm thinking about leaving off the radio altogether if I can.

    So far.
    F430 F1
    Corsa / Black
    Racing seats (L)
    Scuderia shields
    Brake calipers in red
    Leather upholstery for headliner
    Leather upholstery for bench wall
Pre-wiring for battery charger (may have dealer do it for free instead)
    CCM
    Tire pressure monitoring system

According to the German price list, you can order the stitching in differnt colour only or in different colour and strength. Never seen the latter in person.

What you describe looks more like special colours?

I was reading the part about the different stitching from a UK option list that was posted here some time ago

    http://www.ferrari.co.uk/pdf/Ferrari%20Price%20List%202005.pdf

I wonder if the "Special stitching colour on request" means a non-stock stitching color. Like a special color made to sample.

In Germany you can get a different thread size ?

    Re: F430 option list

Also Rossi - What about the Hi-Fi option ?
    I assumed the 430 came with a stereo. Yes / No ?

Yup, I always thought that option would mean different thread sizes. In fact, in the German pricelist they actually say "Fadenstärke", what really means thread thickness. But as I said, I've never seen that option in person and since I've never been interested in that option as well, I never asked what exactly it is.

The F430 comes standard with the same system as the F360: it's a Becker stereo/CD with front speakers only. You can upgrade that audio with the following:
    - CD changer (6 CDs) in the boot
    - HiFi system, which means subwoofer behind the seats (in the middle of the rear shelf)
    - navigation (CD-based )

Concerning HiFi I don't like it as it uses some space behind the seats, something I don't want.

You do get the rear bench in leather? What about the leather sills that come with this option?

Special stitching is the thicker stitching which I order on my Spider.

The stereo with woofers really do not look good. They are between the seats on the back deck and are rather large round looking speakers. Stereo and CD changer are standard.

BTW I also order ball polished wheel rims(standard style). It gives them a sporter look without going into the Stradale wheels. They are apparently a little lighter than the standard wheels.

Can you describe how the thicker stitching looks like? Do really notice it at all? And is all the stitching thicker or only certain parts?

Are you sure about the CD changer? Here it is an option.

How do the ball polished rims look like? Pics?
