    997TT or 997 2S Cabrio

I'm gonna buy myself a new P next year and don't really know what to do. I currently have a 2001 Boxster S with 365hp (455NM torque), bi-turbo conversion done by PSI-Motorsport. So basically right now I have a little bit of both: a roadster AND performance.
The ideal car would be the 997TT cabrio for me that is pricewise not possible. So now I kinda have to chose between a highly equipped 997 2S cabrio (something like Fanch ordered ... loads of extras and the X51 option) OR a kinda standard 997TT. Both should be around the same price.

What would your choice be (considering the fact I have a cabrio right now)?

    Re: 997TT or 997 2S Cabrio

Here are 2 pics of my current car (with hardtop):

I have changed the original Porsche crest with a silver one a few days ago but don't have picture of it yet.

    Re: 997TT or 997 2S Cabrio

wow, nice car.. never seen one with the 996 turbo/4S front.. I'd go for the 2S cab with X51 kit..

    Re: 997TT or 997 2S Cabrio

nice ride. Personally i like naturally asperiated cars. I would go for the cabrio. Or next gt3..

    Re: 997TT or 997 2S Cabrio

    I'd go for the 997TT.
With your boxster and the 365bhp, if you go for the carrera S (even with 381bhp), I doubt that you feel a big diffference between the 2. Don't forget that the 911 is heavier.

I don't know the perfs of your boxster, so it's hard to telln but I'd still go the TT. Besides, Tax are the same in Belgium for the S or the TT.

Lucky you. I wish I had to make a decision like yours

    Re: 997TT or 997 2S Cabrio

If it is not a financial Problem, I would choose the 997 Turbo. So I voted for the Turbo (TT sounds like the Audi one).

AND I adree with amazon23, I wish I would have to choose between these both cars.

    Greetings

    Re: 997TT or 997 2S Cabrio

I'm a nut for the coupes, strictly from a styling standpoint. Not just with 911's, but with most any car. Most cars are originally drawn and sculpted as hardtops, and then the convertible is fashioned after-the-fact in a way that makes the best sense between form and function as they can achieve. So as a lover of automotive design, I prefer the car in-whole. Cab 911's have always looked like a 911 wearing a bad toupee to me, although the 997 Cab is hands-down the best looking effort to-date. So, were it me, it'd be the 997TT coupe. I agree with others that the X51 S Cab may not perform appreciably better than your current Boxster, and one always likes to take a step forward when buying a new ride, at least if you're a power junkie.. Of course, you lose-out on the top-down driving enjoyment, which is definately a sacrifice, but it's a totally personal thing as to "how much" a sacrifice you see that as being. If you really utilize and enjoy top-down driving, you know your answer. But if you're on-the-fence when it comes to your roof, take the Twin Turbo and haul-booty.

    Re: 997TT or 997 2S Cabrio

I'd go for the turbo coupe, but if you wnat a cab all the way, then the tt cab... it still is the highest end "normal" 911 (excluded the GT2 and 3)
BTW, Rami, you should show some pics of the rear decklid... I think most of the guys here didn't notice

    Re: 997TT or 997 2S Cabrio

nice car, love the front end.

    Cheers!
    Ray

    Re: 997TT or 997 2S Cabrio

    Awesome!!
BTW..where did you get the trunk lid??

    Re: 997TT or 997 2S Cabrio

Thx for the input so far guys, I really appreciate it!
I'm still not sure what to do tho. Driving top down IS an addiction I can tell you that. So it is indeed something you need to sacrifice ... on the other hand when you hear those 2 turbo's whistling in stereo ...... pffffff
In an ideal world you would go for the 997TT cab yes ... but I'm already VERY grateful that I'm in a position where I can buy a car like the 997S cabrio or standard 997TT.

Anyway ... if you can help me out in any way don't hold back ... let me know what you think please

The back trunk and actually everything that has been changed on the Boxster comes from PSI-Motorsport in Belgium.
Also the engine conversion is a PSI job.

Below you can find 4 extra pictures of my car, including one of the back trunk opened:

    Re: 997TT or 997 2S Cabrio

The cab, because in our "loaded" traffic, you don't need that big twinturbo power, but you can often enjoy open driving; And the drive in a 911 cab is far more silent than in a boxster, especially when you are a tall person. The cab won't have the excitement of a turboboost , but driven open it provides other vibes... A difficult and very personal choice i think...

    not to worry Rami!

we've already started a Rennteam-fund just for a specific 'unfortunate' situation such as the one you find yourself in--
just PM-us difference in price for the TT-cab, and...

    VOILA!

    Re: 997TT or 997 2S Cabrio

I knew I could count on you guys
