    A suggestion for Rennteam site

    Well,


    in since you asked for it, i throw a suggestion in the table.

    I know there is a section about press magazines and reports in the main frame window of rennteam..

    But i think it stays aside most of the time
    No updated post or even threads that present something new.
    I recognise as one of the problems that this section is located in the main forum, and it reflects announcements and presentations that are connected with all Porsche models.

    What about a separated sticky thread inside 997 forum,that will deal with all press issues??

    For example, tests,comparison,road tests, presentations....etc...

    Some of us could scan articles and post there, or even put in some links from mags-sites on the net with new interesting issues concerning 997.

    If these sources are not available, or too dificult to be obtained, we all could just inform our fellow members about interesting articles review in specific magazines...
    In this aspect whoever is interested can go and buy the magazine..

    I want to stress out the importance of such section,as in many countries magazines of international press arrive one or even two months later..


    Just a suggestion..

    I think that having a section purely devoted to scanned magazine articles is an excellent suggestion especially because not all magazines are available to buy in our own countries.

    This is a global community of enthusiasts crazy about Porsche so let's share what we know so we all benefit!

    All I would say is that it is necessary to make sure nobody's copyright is infringed. Sorry, that's the lawyer in me talking...

    This website is simply the best!

    exactly, moreover, i think that it would be intesting to know from others, what current issues include so that we go and grap all interesting issues.:)

    Plus it would be nice to comment and debate on such articles

    I would greet it very much. It would simply be a little bit more comfortable. Great idea, Dilinger! I voted for it.

    it seems so to me also Phoenix_911, instead of searching between different threads, or posting wherever we think it matches... a sepatare thread//archive for more info more fun and more convinience

    why stop at a sticky 997 thread, when we can have an equivalent for all other models and boards.

    Also a sticky spy shot thread would be good, like the "unofficial boxster coupe gallery" thread on the cayman board. No comments, just pictures..

    Sounds great...BUT: there is that COPYRIGHT thing.
    We can't do much about users posting scanned articles but we cannot create a sticky post and actively participate in copyright infringements. Sorry but this definetely isn't possible because we surely would get in trouble with copyright laws.

    Our NEWS section is updated most of the time, the most important Porsche press infos are available there.
    We were planning a USER REVIEW section for Porsche and Ferrari owners but I'm not sure how many people would be interested in. USER REVIEW section, what does this mean? Well: users testdrive their cars or loaners, take some pictures and write a nice review, short or long. Then they submit the text with the pictures to us and we take care of the threads. Other users will be able to REPLY to this thread but not create a new thread in the USER REVIEW section to avoid flooding with non-review related threads.

    How does this sound? We offer for every user who writes a review and submits pictures a custom user title to their liking. Sorry, no payment, since we're a private non-commercial forum.

    well RC, sounds nice but totally different with what i proposed.

    My proposal was not only based on the review as a review of the car, but as an informative "place" for press related articles.


    Of course i understand your point exaclty thats why i proposed in the beginning, not even to scan pics, but post links of press articles that can be assesed online, or just info and threads concerning information related with press issues.

    I dont think this is illegal,for example:


    "In the current GT Purely Porsche magazine there is an interesting thread comparing the 993............... the writer has some interesting opinions but no arguments to hold them....."


    Thats just passing info and telling other fellow members what articles are offerer currently in the press competition.



    NM, i did not say to make this thread only for 997, could be made also in other boards, if people are interested there also. I m just suggesting this here because i visit more frequently the 997 forum

    Another Question , suggestion:
    Wouldn't it be possible to install a button where you can simply choose to show the posted threads and answers for a period in one time eg.: the posts of the last 24 hours?

    You already have that at the bottom of the Main Index page, in the center:

    "View recent messages
    Past 24 hours
    Past 48 hours
    Past 7 days"
