    Re: GT4RS

I was thinking about Ultra Violet and it looks great, now I need to look for another color indecision , a purple tone will suit it very very well. Kudos for selecting Viola, Nick. it is going to be gorgeous.

Thanks. For some unknown reasons, when the car first came out, I was liking the arctic grey launch colour combo and had ordered the car exactly like the launch car, but when they asked me to add PTS, viola metallic is the first colour to pop into my mind, out of hundreds of Porsche colours.

I didn't go with yellow contrasts inside, I kept the blue stitchings and straps. Since I am going to have black callipers, I didn't need the yellow stitching to match the callipers. The gold wheels won't go with yellow stuff anyways.

    Re: GT4RS

So have you selected the WP as well? Are you staying with normal wheels or going full with the Magnesium ones?

    what cage did you order?

    Re: GT4RS

Weissach pack yes. And yes, I got the normal wheels in gold, instead of the Mg wheels.

And no, Canadian market don't get the cage.

    Re: GT4RS

Purple tones fit the GT4 RS so well. And with combined with metallic it gives the car more presence.

Nick, I would not of chosen the yellow contrat. And nicer to have the gold wheels.

This is the first car I see with the fancy 3D insert seats. I great option but way too expensive to my liking.

I went with the sofa seats to start with.

I really had enough of the buckets, aka torture devices.

The only reason I ordered buckets on my GT2RS was due to peer pressure. It's gone now, but had I ordered sofa seats,  It would still survive in my garage. A Porsche version of the F12. There is no sane reason to get the buckets in ANY Porsche cars to start off with.  The 918 buckets are still a handicapped version of the proper track seats, it's something that'a stuck between a rock and a hard place.

If the car is not used on track, or just once or twice in it's life, then the sofas make more sense. Just like the Pilot Sport 4S over the Cups.  But if tracked regularly then the extra hold + the space for the 6 point harness is better.

I find the buckets quite confortable. Do 550 km and 650 km one way when I go to tracks. I do use a small extra cushion for the lower back. Not more or less back pain compared to sofas when I arrive at destination. But if used in city, or just in and out many times a day, then they need that extra exercice.

Smiley Is complicated here too and for the moment still no delivery/production dates for the orders at the regional dealers, except one or two scheduled in June .

Remember I have the ClubSport? That Recaro race bucket is much much more comfortable than the 918 buckets. That's my hardcore track car, so yes, my GT4RS will only see occasional track duties, more than likely taxi rides around my track when the race car is too much for some.

It looks like 6-point harnesses are not possible with the new 3D-body inserts?

No, they work just fine. I tried a set in mine and used the harnesses. I thought they were great, very cleverly designed, just way too expensive.

Do they provide a better support than the classic foam? It looks High Tech but is it better?

Dave may have some more feedback.

This was my impressions when I tried them on a demo seat.

Not better support but more comfortable. They occupy more  or less exactly the same space as the original foam. They just breath much much better and you can choose between 3 different types, from soft to hard, making the buckets more comfortable and also giving a sense of being more 'integrated' in your seat.

    Re: GT4RS

I did a couple of laps of the 'ring with one.  I think the guy said you sit about 5mm lower, which shouldn't make much difference but it might have made it a little more snug across the hips.  That wasn't the main impression for me.

They are 3D-printed, so that makes it easy to adjust the stiffness/support across them, simply by modifying the gaps between the links, or the thickness of the links of the structure.  So I think some parts are stiffer/more supportive depending on where the weight is.  What I did notice was that it felt a bit less bouncy than with the standard pads.  Going around the 'ring in a 991.2 RS is a pretty bouncy experience normally.  So I felt a bit more comfortable due to that.  Might have helped me concentrate more on the business in hand.

    Lastly they definitely breathe better.
