JR-550:One item I forgot to mention. In my 9 month of ownership I did not have one singel quality issue. The car went back to the dealer once for a software update. Real Porsche Quality!
Great news about the reliability of the Taycan. Have you ever read the Porsche Engineering Magazine? It's a wonderful reference, showcasing the current research and development projects at Porsche Engineering. Contrary to common belief among the acolytes of a certain marque, other automakers are making significant developments in automotive technologies. https://www.porscheengineering.com/peg/de/about/magazine/

This is the type of red meat, that if it were Tesla with this problem, you guys would be overjoyed. I’m not going down that path but rather will point out that it seems like it is a simple fix to replace the on board charger going forward with the Audi unit. Now you know why I am always into home charging and why I am always asking for home charging information.
If I was inclined to I could make fun of 800 volt EVs but the problem is not the 800 volt but rather the cost cutting by the accounting dept.

I enjoy the problems with li ion ev nondepending porsche it is, tesla, geely and etc. The earlier the problems unable to be solved arise the better (less money spent into zero). Leawood, the best car in the world is on your avatar:)
We have discussed the home charging earlier too;)

I can say that a month ago I was test driving a Taycan 4S, and it stopped suddenly as I was pulling into a parking lot. I waited for a few minutes, then it started again. But I later heard from my salesman that this sudden battery power loss has been a problem with certain Taycans.

The article also states that the 800V system has a higher current and that's the problem with the charger and battery management system. Going to 800V lowers the current or amperage for the same amount of power (Watts). Also, the charger, even inboard, operates in conjunction with but is not part of the battery management system.
This is tantamount to validity issues with that article. Until one reads something from Porsche or a governmental regulatory agency on this issue, one virtually tosses the article into the rubbish bin.

Yes, the mistakes in electricity physics have also made me think, is it all true or not (or it is simply protesla source which try to promote the worse tech)

Guys... it's Teslarati... cmon
"Since my source has passed my credibility check through multiple channels and has repeatedly provided many in-depth technical details on the issue, I feel it is my duty to inform the public with this article while I don’t have hard evidence and therefore can’t confirm the information to be right."
voltage vs current.. whatever, close enough... seems legit

If a cost cutting measure caused this: shame on Porsche!!!
See Leawood? I don’t care if it’s Tesla or Porsche. Such attitudes are not OK.
There is no try. Just do.

Porsche replaced how many 991.1 GT3 motors yet they would cheapen out on their new EV flagship? Possible but highly unlikely.

Here is something that slipped away almost unnoticed.
Tesla's Model S/X combo, the high water mark was 27,660 cars for the year 2018.
For 2021, Porsche has already sold 28,640 Taycan/Taycan CT and the year is not done yet. At a higher price point no less.
For all the nay sayers about the Taycan, time to look in the mirror.

I always like the Porsche. Especially the prototype. Just not affordable from a daily driver and depreciation perspective.
The little one I have is a stretch as a second car / daily driver. The speed is so ridiculous for both the Porsche and the plaid the difference is not important.
My dealer just sent me these pics. Looks like my pink pig has just arrived. he forgot to take interior pics with the purple leather and gold trims. Car is in transport mode so suspension at it's highest setting.
As it happens, my Ford dealer also called this morning. My F150 Lightning reservation has been converted to an actual order and asked me to send in the configuration I wanted. Went Platinum trim as it has all the options with the only option I can really add was the lie flat seats and powered running boards, which is a delayed availability option and I gave that up.
Am I a convert to EV? Nah. I just like cars, good cars.
Yes, it’s pink. But it’s a different, even innovative. And Porsche is not stupid for introducing this color, and other unusual colors, into their mix. A clear objective is to attract young people, and people who want something different and unique.
An enlightening example: my son, who is 20 years old, says that this is his favorite color by far. He doesn’t care much about the old standard colors of black, gray, white etc. So Porsche is certainly reaching him. In any event, I don’t think I would choose it, but I certainly understand its allure and purpose!

Trip was done a bit earlier but it's only been widely reported now.
Pure PR from PCNA, but it works. Road trip from LA to NYC in a Taycan and only spent a total of 2 hrs 26 mins and 48 seconds charging up the car.
Beating the previous record by 5 hours, which to my understanding, was done with a Tesla.
Whoopsy:Both my girlfriend (understandable) and my 13 yr old son loved this colour. My son thinks it's a very cool colour.
I just think it's cool too and why not try it. Got bored with the boring silver already anyways.
Bravo 👏. Always good to see someone being adventurous.
Congrats!
Love my Taycan Turbo CT. The power. Insane. The traction. Physics defying. The looks. Mean. The only thing missing is the exhaust sound
Only complaint is the HUD which failed after the last software update. Apparently a common issue, lots of owners reported this on another forum, which the dealer can fix without having to replace anything.
I got a charger installed at home now and it works like a charm.
A full review and photos later in spring
