I ordered a new replacement G63 today, the salesman was confident it would be delivered within 12 months typically he knew nothing of a facelift but specified we could move our order on if a facelift was announced.

Facelift is coming but nothing spectacular...

I was hoping that the facelift would utilize the 800ps hybrid power train from the GT63s E Performance. But the winter testing cars seems to be the non-hybrid ones.
Perhaps, the most important change would be the updated MBUX?
The one thing G63 can benefit from is the 4 wheel steering system.
I cannot make a U-turn in my current G63 and this is the most downfall.
911tts:RC, maybe you know when facelift is comming?
My dealer told me maybe later this year, latest next year.
Not many changes regarding the engine as far as I heard but interior will be updated.
Before the Trackhawk, I almost got one (and I am still sad I didn't because the lease offer was OK, around 1600k EUR a month, now they are over 2300...if you can get one) but it didn't fit in our garage, too high.
Loved the sound and how it drives, not very sporty but with the feel of a sporty light tank, it is difficult to describe but I loved it.

What the hell is a GT63s E Performance? This is an AMG GT?

911tts:I heard rumors that G73 is coming
Yes, it should come. Heard the same thing.
G63 is definitely sold out. Lot of customers which have ordered one and didn't get a written order confirmation has got an order cancellation. Maybe MB will extend the production to produce at least to all customers who had ordered one.

Do you think this is a country specific thing, our dealer seemed very certain about being able to get one albeit with extended delivery time but then he knew nothing about any facelift

So, it would be great if someone smarter than me could help on the following…. Everywhere we look we hear about the chip shortages causing issues for the OEMs. Dealer says very difficult to get cars, etc. hear same stories in US, no chips available for 18 way seats, etc etc.
so how about the below… record sales across the board in 2021 for Porsche. Is the implication that demand is even above these record levels of sales? Assume it must be, but the stories one hears suggests that volumes are down ??.
ALDO:Maybe it is for the EU stopped due to CO2 emission regulations. Do not know about other regions
Mercedes marketing at it's best...make the cars desirable and they sell like hot cakes.
Take a look at the new SL and the engines. No CO2 issues here. Nothing more to say.

Dealer just told me facelift is coming in autumn, very small facelift (whatever small means).
People who order now (if the dealer accepts the order and you get an order confirmation from the factory), get a build estimate for mid/end 2024(!). Germany.
If you want a car now, this is possible but people are asking around 50k premium for a new one. Ouch.
New SL sells like hot cakes as well...cars with early delivery are already going for a 15k EUR premium. Most orders are for the top model.

After taking delivery of our new G63 back end of 2018 we have been in line for a face lift model which has been rumoured for a while, our '18 had a B service today and noone at the dealership had any clue about a facelift model which is strange when you read the link below.
We did actually get offered a build slot in December 2022 but declined as we already have that model, according to the article below they made 40,000 Gs in 2021 - that is quite a number !!

crayphile:I have never been a big fan, but my wife wanted one so we got one recently. The sound of the engine/ exhaust is addictive. I am checking out a C63S Final Edition later this week.
G63 is amazing. Had one a couple of times as a loaner but can't get one because it doesn't fit our garage (height).
Sound is really good for a modern car and it drives nicely.

Thanks. Agree on sound completely but less so on the drive - it is not trying to be - and is no Urus.
Had a G63 for over two years and it is one of the satisfying vehicle to own.
Yes, it has its quirks driving around town. e.g. difficult to make a U turn. But for such a capable off roader, it has no problem passing other cars on the motorways at over 200kph.
Thought about selling and replacing it many times with others but it has its charm over Urus or Bentayga. Not really a daily, but it is my go-to-car.
Probably will replace it when my Purosangue is here.
Any updates on the facelift? You mentioned last autumn.
